A landing page should focus on giving away something of value to your reader, in exchange for their name and e-mail address. It is time well spent to create a series of various landing pages and promote several at a time to see which is most effective.

3. Free advertising allows any Internet business to work on list building. Examples of free advertising that continue to work well include article marketing, discussion forums, social networking, and others.

4. Paid advertising is something that you can do as your Internet business becomes profitable. For example pay per click advertising is very effective to get immediate traffic to your landing page. 5. Once you have your system in place, and are doing various forms of advertising, you should continue to branch out and reach more readers. In summary these are a few things that you can do to build a large list. It takes consistency over a long period of time to develop a quality list. However list building is one thing that can pay off for any Internet marketer if you stay committed to it and do it correctly.

E-mail is important, because it is going to be one of the most affordable ways to keep in touch with your customers.

The proper way to handle email permission is to first let your customer know that you will not transmit their e-mail addresses to third party companies.

The next thing to do is to attach the need for their e-mail addresses to benefits they can receive.

For example: Coupons or discounts that are only available to members who receive e-mail notifications. With each e-mail you send the viral marketing effect takes place.
