This means that when you’re living in Costa Rica or visiting Costa Rica, you will never see armed military personnel walking around anywhere--because the military has no need to exist.
In many countries around the world, it’s not uncommon to hear so much talk about terrorism and the threats of terrorists that just waking up in the morning can seem dangerous. Not in Costa Rica! Terrorism is of little concern to people living in Costa Rica, because the country is a peaceful one and not a terrorist target in any way. Because it’s not a threat to their way of life, Costa Ricans rarely discuss terrorism, and it rarely makes the local news broadcasts.
The lack of violent crime in Costa Rica is just one more reason why investing in Costa Rica is such a safe bet. There are no high-crime areas people will avoid purchasing land or homes in, and no parts unsafe for visiting Costa Rica. An investment in real property in Costa Rica will never be threatened by the government, by drug lords, or by local criminals.
