[T1088]Top 10 Christmas Gifts
by Hugh Harris-evans, Hug
I'm sure you know the feeling well. Christmas is fast approaching and you have all those presents to buy, and cannot think further than those same old gifts that are swapped year after year. You want to give your loved ones a pleasant surprise with a new and unusual christmas gift. Well here are a few ideas for you.

For the men in your life think gadgets. Large and small, weird and wonderful, you can find them all. From a credit card torch to TV watch, just search on Google for "gadgets" and you will be spoilt for choice.

The next group covers those gifts which make the recipient feel good but someone else receives the gift! Adopt a Polar Bear, buy a Goat or Cow for Farm Africa or even Adopt a Vine.

Give excitement. Buy a voucher for driving a Ferrari on a racetrack, a day of white-water rafting or indoor skydiving.

Give relaxation. Buy vouchers for a day at a health spa, a beauty makeover or a session in a flotation tank.

Give entertainment. Buy vouchers for a meal at a favorite restaurant or a tickets to a show.

Give fame (of a sort). You can buy the right to name a star or have a new rose variety named after you.

Give real estate. If you are looking for a bargain there is a website where you can buy an acre of land on the moon and get a second acre free!

Coming back down to earth you can give a share in a football club. Just make sure that you choose the right team or this one might backfire on you.

Buy a tiny piece of the Glencairn Estate in Scotland and have legal usage of the title "Laird". Who would not be proud to hang that certificate on his wall?

And finally, if you want a novel way of greeting your friends and family at Christmas, you can give them a Message Egg. Pop the can open, add water and within a matter of hours the egg will begin to crack as a bean plant emerges bearing a Happy Christmas message.

1.Consider your company or brand ethos and choose a gift that reflects this.

2.Think about the recipient(s) and their lifestyle and make sure your gift fits the profile.

3.Choose an inspirational product, one that the recipient will aspire to, but is unlikely to buy them self.

4.Think about the practicalities. If you are buying 100 TV’s to give as gifts, where are you going to securely store them in the lead up to Christmas.

5.Investigate the recipient’s company policy. Is your contact allowed to receive a personal Christmas gift? Some companies pool gifts and hand them out among the entire staff. Do you want your expensive pen to go to the post boy?

6.Timescale is important, especially for perishable gifts such as food hampers.

7.Decide the budget you are going to allocate to Christmas gifts so that you can give your supplier an accurate brief.

8.Consider over branding, or not! Adding your own company logo to an expensive gift might devalue it, or make it an embarrassment to use.

9.Don’t forget religious considerations. Not everyone celebrates Christmas!

10.Don’t debase your own brand by giving an unreliable product. No one wants their gift to be remembered for delivering disappointment!
