[T1209]Trade Show Display System
by Marie Roehampton, Mar
Colour and fonts are very important aspects to having an effective trade show display. Without colour and an attractive font, the display will not stand out and will just blend in with its surroundings. When this occurs, trade show customers simply walk on past and look for those booths that are incorporating noticeable colour and graphics into their display. That is why it is important to be sure colour becomes an integral part of the trade show display.

First of all, it is a good idea to stay away from cool colours such as blues, greens, and whites. The reason for this is because everything tends to be blue, green, and white. They are some of the most common colours used in everything. What you want your trade show display to be is anything but common. You want it to be uncommon since uncommon is what gets attention from prospective customers.

What you want to use are colours such as red, yellow, and orange and fonts that will really get attention. The reason why you want to use these colours and fonts are because they stand out and in a room full of blues and greens and these colours and fonts scream out, ?Look at me, I have what you want!? It is a natural human response to gravitate toward those things that are bright because bright means happiness and happiness is something no one can get enough of.

Nevertheless, it is good to be selective as to what bright colours and fonts are used because too much of a good thing can give them impression that you're trying too hard, so don't overwhelm the display with these bright colours and fancy fonts that are difficult to read. Have an attractive graphic and focus the colours around that graphic. Don't paint the entire display orange, but accent the booth to the point it will gain attention.

You can also use something as simple as colourful table cloths that can bring about attention while still relaying a professional image to the prospective customers. It is amazing how far something that simple can go in getting attention. If you have a colourful tablecloth and the display next to you does not, you are going to be the one more likely to receive visitors.

Something else to think of when developing the trade show display is the matching of colours and of the fonts. There have been times in which those running trade show booths have had a graphic designer design a graphic. In the meantime, tablecloths and paint are being purchased in anticipation of getting started on the display. The only problem with this is the fact that the graphic designer's version of red may not be the same as your version of red and then there are two different reds to contend with. The same goes for the fonts used in the graphic.

The best way to avoid colour and font conflicts from occurring is to wait for the graphic designer to finish the graphic. The reason for this is because it is easier for you to match colours and fonts to the graphic because that gives you a little more creative control. Requests to the graphic designer can still result in a little colour or font variation, but what's great is you can match colours and fonts up to the graphic instead of the graphic designer matching up to you. That process is considerably less complicated when doing it that way.

So by keeping these things in mind, you can have an attractive and easy to read font for your text and colours that will set you apart for the rest. Another important thing is that your display will possess consistency, which is very important to a professional display.

You get even more confused when you hear words like trade show exhibits and trade show displays. As there is no difference between the words "display" and "exhibit", there is no difference between trade show displays and trade show exhibits.

If this would be your first time then you can go for the trade show display rentals. At the rentals, you can go for turnkey basis or can rent out individual pieces. If you go for turnkey basis, you will have their expertise to guide you. However, you should have a little idea of your own.

Establishing a market plan is a very important aspect of attending a trade show. However, it is equally important to present your trade show exhibits in such way that they are able to draw the customers attention instantly. It is a fact that few come to the trade show with the intension of buying any specific goods. Most of the visitors just stroll around and make purchases only if something catches their eyes. As for those who, come to the expo to buy something enters that booth that they find interesting. Therefore, it is imperative that your booth should catch their attention.

As a participant, it would be important for you to generate some sales. Along with it, it is also important for you to create a positive impression on the minds of the visitors. One efficient way to do the same is to give your pavilion a unique look. You can, at lease in the beginning, take the help of a professional.

People who hold a good experience of organizing and planning things in this field know as to how the things work, what is required to catch people's attraction and how should the products be displayed visibly and prominently. It is recommended that you should take their help initially. But there is no hard and fast rule as such. You can also do the same job if you have a clear vision and know as to how should the things look like.

Even if you do not have any idea, you should ask for different plans and then choose the one you think will suit your purpose best. Alternatively, you can leave everything to the trade show display rentals. Most of them are in business for a long time and will display your products to the best of their ability to promote their business, if for nothing else.

Being a first timer, you can do the following:

1) Rely on the trade show display rental agencies. However, relying on them totally may turn out to be bit expensive.
2) Therefore, you can visit few expos before you join one and watch trade show displays and exhibits put up by the ones that have caught your attention. Try to understand why these have caught your eyes and not others.
3) Instead of going for turnkey projects, you can also hire individual pieces
4) If you plan to join other expos, you can buy some trade show exhibits and rent the rest.
5) This is best idea, because that way you will be saving some recurring expenses and yet can set up differently designed stalls each time you join an expo.
