[T1309]Treatment For Neck Pain
by Shahid152 Shahid152, Sha
Chiropractic treatment is widely used as an alternative medicine for the care of your health through manual therapy of controlling the spinal as well as other joints and soft tissues. This health care technique concerns itself on the problems of the musculoskeletal system as well as the nervous system.

This alternative therapy is the largest among the alternative medicines in the U.S. with a great focus of prevention and treatment along with diagnosis of all the mechanical disorders that are associated with the nervous system.

The method adapted by a chiropractor is complementary and it is alternative medicine that is aimed at reducing the back and neck pain as well as low back pain. The principle that chiropractic follows is the self-healing ability of the body parts and spine structure along with functions and therapy, which in conjunction heals the body naturally.

Generally the spine and different parts of the body are adjusted for correcting the alignment problems. Hence, it is the people with back and neck pain as well as headache who come for this treatment.

The success of chiropractic treatment is linked with the medical condition and the type of treatment method adopted. It must be underlined here that the care of chiropractic is safe if done skillfully. This makes it imperative to know the education and training of the chiropractor along with licensing while looking for treatment. It must be noted that a chiropractor must have the Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C) degree that is recognized by the Council on Chiropractic Education.

A person going for treatment to a Chiropractic Clinic must disclose his special medical problems for coordinated and safe care by the chiropractor doctor. The chiropractor will initially try to know your health history and perform different physical examination to know well about the spine. Then there are the many adjustments that are used for chiropractic care.

All the fifty states of U.S. as well as different countries have recognized the health benefits of chiropractic and also as a profession. In U. S. alone, there are over 50,000 chiropractors while the number of chiropractic colleges around the world is twenty-six. The profession is one of the fastest growing fields in health care, mainly because it is safe, drugless, non-invasive, natural and very effective. One can find about this alternative medicine in the writings of Hippocrates, Galen as well as in the ancient manuscripts found in Hindus, Chinese and Egyptians. The modern revelation of the technique is credited to Dr. Daniel David Palmer who founded the first college on Chiropractic in Davenport in Iowa in 1895.

The learners of chiropractic get training to find the source of pain, which could be far from the real location of the occurrence of the symptom. Once the source is found out, the joints are corrected or adjusted and are set up so that there is self-healing. The doctors treating the patient could make clinical examination, diagnostic imaging or some laboratory testing as well as other methods to find the time when the treatment should be given to the patient.

The condition often occurs with back pain, and the symptoms are similar. Symptoms of neck pain may include spasm, stiffness, muscle discomfort, limitation of movement and headaches. Neck pain can occur suddenly (acute) or be constant (chronic); an acute injury can lead to chronic pain and loss of range of motion, if left untreated.

Rather than continue with precription medicine for treating symptoms of neck pain, massage is a relevant non invasive alternative technique. Massage is a manual therapy that uses hands-on manipulation of the muscles and other soft tissues to relieve muscle tension and reduce stress. Although massage affects the whole body, it is especially therapeutic for the musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems.

A combination of techniques, performed by an experienced massage therapist, will provide pain relief and help your recovery. The types of massage that are frequently adopted to relieve the symptoms of neck pain include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Shiatsu.

Swedish massage is an term used for many types of massage therapy techniques where there is a need to release tension using applied pressure of the hand to the muscles at the surface. This type of massage may be helpful in reducing emotional stress and tension that may add to your neck pain. It is also known as a full body massage.

Deep tissue massage may be performed with Swedish massage to release tension from the deeper muscles and connective tissues in the neck and upper back. A massage involving deep tissue is much more intense as the pressure used by the massueur is harder as they focus on releasing scar tissue that can be the route of your neck discomfort.

Trigger point therapy uses steady pressure to release neck muscle spasms and promote blood flow to the area to aid healing. The method of therapy includes locating specific areas of knotted muscle which are manipulated being the source of the pain from the area of your shoulders and back to your neck.

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese massage in which the practitioner uses his or her body weight to gradually press acupressure points. By palpating, or feeling, the network of vessels through which your energy flows (meridians), the Shiatsu practitioner will be able to feel and simultaneously adjust the flow of energy ("Ki") in your body.
