So the important question is "Why did you turn to food? "

I am convinced that we can't lose weight, and keep it off, until we face up to why we got fat in the first place. It's very easy to blame something else for our weight. "It's in my genes." "I have big bones." "I quit smoking and have piled on the pounds." "I was taught to empty my plate" "I have a medical condition that makes me gain weight." "I hate exercise."

Sorry, but I think all of those are just excuses. It was a choice. You chose to become fat.

Sure, you didn't just wake up one day and say, "I think I'm going to get fat now!" Of course not, but you did chose to over use food for a reason. Some people can eat whatever they want and not gain a pound. You are not one of those people and you know it. So choose the right lifestyle for your own body type. Use your excuses and stay over weight or change your lifestyle and get the body you really want.

You say it's a medical condition? Then go and see a doctor and resolve the problem. So many people use this excuse, but in reality it is EXTREMELY rare to have a medical condition that makes you clinically obese. Sure there are lots of conditions that can push you to gain a bit of weight (but here we are talking about maybe 20 pounds max), but genuine medical conditions that cause you to gain 100+ pounds are very rare.

The first thing to accept is that you got fat as a result of your own actions. No one forced you to eat that food! Then look at what it was that triggered you to over use food, what problem were you facing. It may be an unhappy childhood, abusive (physical or sexual) relations or spiteful friends? Take some quiet time to search for the original cause, talk it through with someone you trust. Finally find out what is keeping you fat now. Then you'll be ready to lose weight, if you really want to.

Again, you choose to keep holding on to those excuses or get yourself a Healthy Life?

Two of the biggest problems of diabetics, pre-diabetics and others, are weight gain and high blood sugar levels.

Trudeau has put together a "Top 10" list of underlying reasons why people get fat. These include:

#1 Low metabolism

Trudeau says that a low metabolism requires a lot of energy to burn off a small amount of food, or it gets turned into fat. Under-active thyroids, a poor performing pancreas, clogged and sluggish liver, sluggish digestive system are some of the primary reasons for this low metabolic condition.

#2 Eating when you're not hungry

Stress and physical food cravings are cited by Trudeau as the primary cause of eating, even when you're full.

#3 Large Appetites

Lack of digestive enzymes and Candida yeast overgrowth reduce your body's ability to assimilate nutrients, resulting in insatiable hunger.

#4 Hormonal imbalances

Your body may be secreting too many harmful hormones and not enough healthy hormones, creating an imbalanced state.

#5 Eating larger portions

Needing larger portions to satisfy hunger is a cultural issue (most U.S. food portions are considerably larger than European portions), larger appetites, physiological cravings and even stress can cause a need for more food.

#6 High consumption of diet food

"Diet", "low fat", "low carb", even "lean" foods and beverages are loaded with artificial flavorings, colorings and additives that, according to Trudeau, actually make you fatter. They increase your appetite, and make you physically addicted to eating more, causing you to get fatter.

#7 High toxic conditions

Found mainly in the colon and fat cells, toxins lodge themselves in your body. They cause you to retain water, and increase fat stores.

#8 Eating before bed

When you sleep your body's metabolism is slowed, converting fewer calories to energy and more to fat.

#9 Growth Hormones in Meat and Dairy Products

Many of the meat and dairy products you consume contain large quantities of growth hormones that cause obesity in your own body.

#10 Fat people see themselves as fat

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy that what you focus or think about most, is what you become. Fat people see themselves as fat, and become that, even if they're slightly overweight.

In addition to Kevin Trudeau's Top 10 list of why diabetics and pre-diabetics get fat, we'd like to add one more.
