[W760]Why Christmas Is Celebrated
by Alex Fenwick, Ale

Christmas is coming...
So summer is barely leaving us and we’re already talking about Christmas.  In the business world though, this is an important time of the year. The last thing you want to do is miss out on what could potentially be one of the most profitable times of the year.  We’ve decided in our infinite kindness to offer you some helpful tips to make your campaign really stand out in this festive period.
This is a big time for using emailing to get your message across.  The EEC state that major online companies increased their emailing on average by 47%.  Judging by that, you will want to make sure your campaign is as effective as possible.  So here are some tips to keep you ahead of the competition…..
Make sure the timing is right
Research from previous years has found that the busiest period for online activity is between 5th -15th December.  Make sure your campaign takes into consideration these dates.
It’s also worth considering that people will be more likely to be taking more half days off.  So perhaps consider the time you send the message, early mornings may be your most effective time to deliver your message.
Keep Consistent
However tempting it may be to offer a plethora of different Christmas offers, it’s probably best to stick to one simple campaign over the whole period.  This way you can make sure you will push your message across and get through to your customers in the midst of mayhem that is there inbox.  Make sure you spend time making your offer simple and memorable.
Convenience
People may not have time off so they want convenience from their online purchasing.  Make it as easy as possible for them to get your product.  Maybe offer a reserve online and pick up from store offer or special mail deliveries options.  Perhaps even offering to wrap the product will tilt the scales in your direction.
Don’t overdo it
Okay, so as a provider of email marketing this probably isn’t the best tip (as we are probably going to miss out on money) but don’t overdo the campaign with masses of emails.  You DO want the recipients to get the message but you DON’T want to annoy them and end up flooding the recipients’ inbox.
Don’t just sell to them
You want to make your newsletter readable?  Don’t just give them the usual sales patter.  Start the newsletter with something like “Christmas tips” so that you can offer something that the recipients will find useful, then drop in an offer relating to your products and how it could be perfect for a certain someone.
Finally…..
It is customary to send your customers and clients the Christmas card.  Why not try something a little different this year and offer them an e-card?  Saves chopping down a ton of trees for something they’re going to throw in the bin the 1st January.  You can also automate personalisation of each e-card to save you valuable time so you can get back to work quicker (or go on the internet searching for Christmas presents).

Perhaps, you never have noticed that time had flown fast as there are only a couple of months to go already before Christmas, haven't you? Wow, that would mean a lot of gifts to give and to receive as well! He he. I bet you don't want to be one of those people who are always on the rush when doing their shopping sprees to buy for Christmas gifts. Who would want to get caught in the middle of the traffic anyway? Want to give gifts and still don't have the idea on what to buy? Are those gifts for men or for women? Or are those for the little tots that you always wanted to make happy or simply, a present to treat yourself on Christmas?

It is really heart-warming to buy gifts during Christmas. But shopping for Christmas gifts in the middle of the year? Nah... It would probably make you raise your eyebrow in awe and perhaps question yourself or those people who do the activity. That may sound something quirky for you. You may conclude that those peeps that do the advance shopping are just too excited for Christmas. Oh well, you don't have to do anything with them 'coz it's their choice, their happiness in fact. But as you can see, in this fast changing world, you may not notice that days are going fast too and before you know it, it's Christmas time already. And obviously, people who usually don't mind the fast-paced time would always see themselves in a Christmas rush. Mind you, it's not only the people who are always get caught in this kind of dilemma but everything (I mean the items in the stores) as well!

Christmas, as been perceived by everyone as the time of sharing and giving, should not be limited to one fixed date only. It should be commemorated all throughout the year. It doesn't mean that the act of giving gifts is only determinate during Christmas Day. So it is never too late nor too early to look or to buy for one.

Why, even just by walking along city streets at this time of year, you can see a lot of goodies and other wonderful stuff that might be a good Christmas idea for a gift. For sure, kids are busy writing down their long list of items that they would love to receive. why even Mom and Dad could be cooing each other, letting each other overhear about that nice new coat or that funky new dress they want to receive at Christmas time!

What I am trying to say is that you don't need to wait for Christmas time when you can celebrate it now. Also let me remind you that buying Christmas gifts for men and for the ladies as well goes beyond than just going to your usual favorite department stores.

There are other places, aside from our favorite department stores, that could offer us cool Christmas gift ideas. Why settle on driving from one store to another when you can do it at home, just by sitting and browsing the Internet? Yes! What I'm saying is, the Internet can provide you with the ideas you would love to embrace and items you would likely love to buy too.

For all you know, you can be overwhelmed with what you can find among the wide array and a thousand-mile long collection of different Christmas gifts and you wouldn't expect a site that will post a sign that says: "CLOSED! WILL OPEN AT CHRISTMAS TIME ONLY & BE SURE YOU GET BACK HERE DURING THAT TIME!", would you agree?

To quote back, 'it's never too late or never too early for Christmas gifts' is indeed true. You don't have to wait for Christmas time to arrive and look and buy as well for the best gifts for your loved ones. Ideas for Christmas gifts can just be right under your mistletoes or just right under your reindeer's red nose! So, why wait when you can jingle your bells today and celebrate Christmas through giving. Let it snow whole year 'round and may each of us celebrate a very merry Christmas.
