[W387]What Are Six Simple Machines
by James Brown, Jam
A lot of research is done but the only commonality seems to be oily skin. It isn't a symptom of a more serious disease -- and it isn't dangerous or contagious. It can erode your confidence especially in the outbreaks that result in pustules and scars.

Can anything be done to help. Absolutely. There are many treatments to try yourself. If nothing works you can consult your doctor. There are many prescriptions she or he can try. Just remember one thing. The product that clears your best friend's skin overnight may not help you at all. The next product might be the one that works for you.

Try these six suggestions. If none of them help at least they won't make it worse.

-- Keep your face as oil-free as possible: Wash your face twice a day with mild soap. Liquid is good but a bar soap can be just as mild. Try Dove or Neutrogena. There's a bar soap that has oatmeal in it. This is recommended for eczema sufferers to bathe in. It should be soothing to acne also. Try a liquid cleanser with a mild exfoliate. Remember -- wash your face often -- with a mild product. Dry it gently by patting it with the towel rather than rubbing.

--Several times a day use an astringent to remove any excess oil: If you notice your face looking shiny even after washing you can take a cotton pad and wipe it with astringent. Choose a gentle brand. It shouldn't cause a burning sensation unless it is too harsh. A treatment should sooth your skin -- never make it hurt.

--Spot treat pimples before going to bed: There are too many products to list. Each one is proclaimed to be rated number one in several studies. The company that makes and sells the product will do study after study until they get the result they want. Unless research is done by an independent lab consider it worthless. Anyways, while you sleep the product you choose can dry your pimples and blackheads.

--Follow the basic rules for healthy living: Fresh air, healthy food, 8 glasses of water and enough exercise and sleep. Even if it doesn't help the acne you'll gain other health benefits.

--Avoid stress whenever you can: There are varying opinions on whether or not stress causes acne. Even if the experts aren't sure -- why take a chance.

--Do not squeeze, pick or even touch the pimples: Now go smile at yourself in the mirror. Your acne can be treated. If you're a teen it is likely to clear up completely before college. Remember, everyone should have a few blemishes. That's what makes you human.

If after a reasonable time period of trying these six treatments on your own, your acne is no better, turn the problem over to your doctor. You can be treated with a prescription medicine. If it persists after that -- perhaps you need a dermatologist. They can use treatments to help even the most severe cases...

Try to incorporate some fun while you are preparing for your first florist appointment. Here are a few ideas to help make your first florist appointment go smoothly and to be sure that you are prepared, so that you can enjoy your first appointment rather than worry about what is going to happen. Here are some fun and unique ideas to prepare you for that first appointment.

Dream a little, Make a list of every single type of flower you love. Write down your color scheme. Make a list of every type of possible area in your wedding that you can use flowers. Then think about how you would like to include those floral favorites into your bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, altar flowers and centerpieces.

Have your flowers express your love, Your wedding day is the perfect day to express your love. Why not show your love through your flowers? Flowers tend to symbolize certain feelings. For example, red roses represent love, passion and desire. The Calla Lily symbolizes magnificent beauty, orchids represent ecstasy and pansies symbolize the 'unspoken' thoughts between lovers. Your florist will be able to help you to select the flowers special to you and your fiance that will share your feelings with all of your friends and family.

Let the 'true' experts of the past be your role model - Ivy was carried by Greek brides as a symbol of never-ending love. Orange blossoms were carried by Queen Victoria as a symbol of happiness and fulfillment. Now, look back at your own ancestors or family traditions. This is a great way to bring in beauty and special meaning to your special day.

What is your vision? Know your tastes. Are you looking for bold or simple? What about elegant or extravagant? If you have some idea of what you are looking for, you will be able to spend more time on creating the style you are looking for, rather than deciding on a style. Of course, you could change your mind altogether when you go to that first appointment, but at least you have considered your own tastes.

Determine your wedding style, Your style is not the same as your vision. Are you intending to carry a dramatic, long bunch of flowers or a tight posy of blooms? Plus, carry this same wave of thinking into what the other members of the wedding party will have. Should your mom wear a corsage or carry a nosegay? Should the bridesmaids carry a single stem flower or a bouquet? Your style could not match your budget. However, a creative florist will find something within your price range to create the style of wedding you have dreamed of

Don't forget the budget! This is obviously important, but also if you go in there not knowing how much you can afford, you will likely go way over your budget and this can lead to frustration and disappointment. Account for at least 8% for your wedding flowers and then add in an extra 10% for overages, which often happens. This way you will not be disappointed when you cannot get the flowers you expected to be a part of your wedding.

If you take some time to figure out your style and vision, you will be that much more prepared for that first florist visit. The more you can decide before you get to that appointment, the less overwhelming it will be. You will be able to enjoy selecting colors and bouquets, rather than rushing in these decisions because you are so completely unsure of your own tastes!
