[W673]Where To Buy Maternity Clothes
by Jim Brown, Jim
For many pregnant plus size women, the search for plus size maternity wear used to be such a challenge in the past. But currently, the market for plus size maternity clothes offers so many choices to give every plus size expecting mother the chance to still look fashionable and stylish even with a bulging belly.

Plus size maternity clothes are available for almost all occasions from casual to dressy. As a response to the pregnant women who before were frustrated with the drab and outdated designs on maternity clothes, they now come in very fun, funky, fine and fancy designs and choice fabrics to help moms to be with their own personal style.

You have your tops, skirts, pants and dresses in a range of patterns, styles, designs and colors to choose from. Women no longer have to resort to their husband's wardrobe or on oversized clothes.

For your plus size maternity needs, the internet is a haven offering many choices with its roster of online maternity stores catering to plus size women. You not only get to shop in the comfort of the home but it makes comparison shopping easier with a few simple clicks of the mouse button. You can also find good advice from other expectant mothers as well as get the opportunity to trade or purchase used maternity clothing. Browsing through the many online stores gives you the chance to get an idea of what's available in the market and to plan your maternity wardrobe. But if you are planning to purchase clothes for a dressy occasion don't buy too early if you want to be ensured of a good fit. You can never expect how much weight or size you'll add to.

Plus size maternity catalogs would be another option that you could turn to. You can actually request from companies that specialize in larger size clothing catalogs showcasing their various items and you can either order through mail or even through their websites (which is faster).

The local retail stores that offer maternity clothes actually give you the opportunity to be able to try on clothes before you actually make a purchase should you feel uncomfortable at making a buy online without even being able to try it on first. Second hand shops and auction sites like ebay would also be a good place to check out for discounted maternity clothes from maternity dresses, maternity swimwear, maternity accessories and even maternity underwear. When it comes to consignment and second hand shops though quality maternity clothes are hard to come by if you don't frequent the stores because such items quickly sell.

Let's face it: maternity clothing is ugly and expensive. Since most women don't need to wear maternity clothes until the second trimester, at most you'll only be getting six months of use out of those ugly $200 overalls to cover your ever expanding stomach. I couldn't bring myself to spend thousands of dollars on a new wardrobe when I already felt so ugly, so I resorted to making my own for as long as possible. For example, I really didn't want to buy old lady underwear that would cover me from my belly button to the tops of my thighs. They were hot and uncomfortable anyway, but there aren't many sexy maternity panties around.

Instead of going commando, I decided to wear my husband's briefs. Surprisingly, they were comfortable and even looked kind of cute on me. Recently, I was watching Oprah and saw that I wasn't the only woman who's done that during the latter months of a pregnancy. Still, even with the underwear problems solved I was in desperate need of maternity clothes. You can only wear your old college sweatshirts and pants for so long before you break down and buy a real pair of maternity pants.

Out of all of the maternity clothes that I bought during my pregnancy, the jeans were by far the most expensive. We all know how hard it can be to find a decent pair of jeans as it is, try finding a pair of jeans when you're pregnant! First of all, the options are way more limited. Most stores don't even carry maternity clothes, and I absolutely refused to buy jeans at Wal Mart. Low prices come at a high cost, let me tell you. I eventually found a pair, but they cost more than I'm willing to admit. I will say, however, that I had to hide the receipt from my husband.
