[W431]What Girls Like The Most
by Marjory Albury Albury, Mar
Bored of cooking every day the same meals, the same
recipes, and want to try something different and exotic?

You can choose any culture, any country you want and you
will find traditional food for each and every
one of them. But there is something different about the
way the Spanish cook, they just make food enjoying it and
this is what matters and offers such tasty results.

First of all you have to know Spanish people like to eat
a lot of eggs. But they never, or almost never, eat boiled
eggs like we do (cigar makers use to eat Fried eggs on rice for lunch).
The traditional egg preparation method is
to scramble them and fry them, obtaining a delicious omlette
with potatoes and lots of onions added in the frying pan. The
Spanish tortilla, as it is called is an exceptional and
nutritional way to feed your family for lunch.

Another wonderful dish is the paella. The paella means that
you will pretty much throw in the frying pan everything you have
in your fridge. Everything that goes with each other, of course.
The base for the paella is usually obtained out of boiled chicken
wings of legs and to it we will add vegetables, rice, fish, and several
other seafoods.
It is important that we fry everything together in olive oil for a better
taste. We can even add fruits in the pan and after everything is done,
just a minute before turning off the fire, we pour in the pan an assorted
natural juice or liqueur or wine, whatever we want as long as we think we
will like it. And the result will be an absolutely extraordinary dish made
to fit our every taste and desire. Paella is my favorite main meal dish.

Spanish deserts are often a dream, but they can be rather difficult to
prepare and they usually contain lots of calories. A few of the simple ones
are Natilla (Spanish Custard), Flan,Queen of Puddings,Key Lime Pie
(the Real one).
Spanish cooking in generally is for people that really have time to spend in
the kitchen and enjoy doing it. Most Spanish dishes take a log time to
complete and a regular Spanish meal can require up to 3 or even 4 dishes to
serve. Often they will serve Sangria with the main meal.

If you are willing to try but don’t really have that much time on your hands
then you can just go to a Spanish restaurant near you and see for a change
how Spanish people eat. But if you experience weight problems you must be
careful on how much you eat, Spanish food can be addictive and it contains
many calories to give you lots of benefic energy.

If your choice is Paella call the Spanish restaurant in advance as this is
not a one person dish. You will find that Paella is a heart and soul warming
dish. Great time to take friends and family out. The Chef normally only
prepares it when it is ordered. No left overs.

The legend of the phoenix has been in the popular imagination since ancient civilizations. This magical, mythical bird has been a part of the plot since time immemorial. Even today, you would find mention of the phoenix, in books, tales and movies. A city in the United States is named after this bird, which rises from its ashes and the "Harry Potter" movie series has it interwoven in many sub-plots.

Stories emanating from oral traditions have a habit of varying from storyteller to storyteller. A teller would put his version of the story and pass it to the next one who would some thought of his or her own and pass it on. Nobody has been able to pin point the myth to one area or time. Hence not only the myth has morphed into various versions, but even the origination of the story has changed.

The main facts of the legend of the Phoenix remain intact, even though history has adulterated the myth itself. The legend states that the Phoenix is a supernatural creature with an incredibly long life span. Some believe the bird is capable of living at least a thousand years and is unable to become sick or injured at any point in its lifetime. Others believe disease or drought can affect the bird, causing it to prematurely enter the next phase of its life.

The legend goes on to say that when a phoenix has either lived for a thousand years or becomes sick or injured, it begins to gather twigs, branches, and wood. This resembles a traditional funeral pyre instead of the usual nest. This was the way bodies were disposed off in the ancient times. Some ancient cultures have even included personal artifacts to be burned with their owner, while others have a tradition where the spouses also sacrifice themselves along with their mate.

The phoenix then burns itself at the lit pyre, though it is here that many versions of the whole myth start taking shape. Some say that the phoenix doesn't require these items to ignite it but has an inherent capability of self-igniting without requiring any fuel. There are differing opinions as to what happens after the phoenix is burned.

According to the traditional story, the phoenix burns to ashes, and then rises again from the ashes to live another thousand years. This aspect of the story that demonstrates the triumph over adversity has become the symbol of eternity or the ability to rise from the dead. No wonder many groups and organizations use the phoenix as their mascot.

Another version of the story is that before the fire consumes the bird, it lays an egg, which hatches a new phoenix. This phoenix will live to be a thousand years old before having an offspring in the same method, thus continuing the life cycle of the bird. There is no way of ascertaining which version of the story is true, but all of them express the same theme: the triumph over adversity.

There are a great many versions of how this story began. Some believe a fire colored bird was captured and the story was created about his origins. Others think the phoenix was actually a raven who was ?dancing? in the embers of a dying fire, a behavior known as ?anting.?
