[W562]What Mental Disorder Do You Have
by Gen Wright, Gen
Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder. Persons who are affected by agoraphobia have a tendency to stay away from some specific places. Although the name (agora=marketplace, phobia=fear) suggests that the only congested places like marketplaces could bring out the panic attacks, the fact is, it does not really matter whether these places are wide-open or not. As long as the patient has memories of a similar location or situation, they have a chance of suffering from a panic attack.

In general, anxiety attacks are caused by certain triggers. In agoraphobia, the new triggers are created each time when the patient has a panic attack. He/She then remembers the place, which then becomes a trigger. After that, whenever the patients find themselves in similar circumstances that can provoke a panic attack.

A person who suffers from agoraphobia is aware of this. That is why they have a tendency to stay away from places where there is even the slightest chance that a panic attack may occur. Even if a full blown anxiety attack does not occur, they might still have the unpleasant feelings of fear. And as we all know, those feelings can only cause even more stress, which is bad for anyone's health.

Someone who is victimized by agoraphobia will find that as time goes by, there will be more and more places he/she cannot visit. That is because the number of triggers increases over time, whenever he/she goes through a new anxiety attack. If agoraphobia is not treated, the patients might find themselves with no other option but to become prisoners of their own home.

This causes many problems in their lives. For instance, he/she could not be able to visit some places, even if their job requires them to go. Their social life can become non-existent because they tend to avoid going out. As a result, the overall quality of life will start to decline, and the their lives will fall apart.

So, a person who suffers from agoraphobia should ask for a help ASAP. There are three commonly known types of treatments available.

The first type of treatment is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy sessions are conducted by qualified psychologists and will help to eliminate the triggers that are provoking the anxiety attacks. Different patients might respond to this form of treatment differently. Some may be healed completely, while other patients will find their agoraphobia improving. Do note that the more severe the disorder, the more time is needed for treatment to have some results.

The second form of treatment is to take drugs. Drugs are often essential because the effects are more readily seen. Taking proper drugs in prescribed doses can help the patients to perform their daily routines. Drugs are usually used while the patient is undergoing psychotherapy sessions.

The third form of treatment are the self help programs. These programs are developed by people who have in past suffered from agoraphobia, and have since managed to overcome the condition. They have included the information about their recovery process in a program.

Those who are struck by agoraphobia should pay attention to what works for them. Obviously, different people need different kinds of treatment. Agoraphobia can be healed when the adequate treatment is used.

How do you really define Acne Dysmorphia? It is basically a disease when someone always feels that his or her skin is bad. It is more like an obsession about one's feeling about the skin.

Why such absurd thought or feeling?

Is it a symptom of being psycho? You can presume it to be so. Actually if you are suffering from Acne Dysmorphia, it can be considered as certain that at some point of your lifetime you have suffered from acne. It can be also such that you are still suffering from acne.

If you are really suffering from acne you can obviously have a psychological stress regarding your sufferings. This cannot be treated as Dysmorphia or a psychological disorder.

The problem is acute and very much mental when you don't have acne right now or it is at a very mild form but you constantly worry and get obsessed about it. Your irritation is reflected on your face, through whatever you do and also through your communication and body language. If this is the situation with you, don't take it casually because these are the symptoms of Acne Dysmorphia.

Firm belief and irritable nature

Those who suffer from Acne Dysmorphia they have a firm belief that their skin is worst and acnes on them are terrible to fight back. In fact if the acnes are really that dangerous and troublesome, you must simply rush to a doctor. You will never opt for this option because you are confirmed that there is no acne on your skin. But you actually love to believe that your skin is dirty and full of disgusting elements.

The more you think in this way; the more you tend to become irritating in nature. Ultimately a time turns up that from the level of a maniac you become a seriously psychologically diseased personality.

Burden of depression

The most depressing thing about this disease is that you will not believe that you are psychologically ill. If you are suggested to see a psychiatrist you will find out thousands of excuses to avoid this sitting with the concerned doctor.

The tendencies are peculiar because you will stare at your skin, itch it every now and then, plan for how to care for it and at the same time lament on it of being not healthy and glowing. You will constantly feel sick about it. The treatment for it has to be done at psychological level where cognitive behavioral therapies are essential.
