Why would people go online to buy something they can easily get on their regular weekly shopping trip?

Unless you can offer something truly unique -- such as a lower price or a hard-to-find product -- you'll find it tough to compete with the convenience and the lack of shipping costs those offline alternatives offer.

Rule #2: Don't sell a "time-sensitive" product!

If you try to sell something people need RIGHT AWAY, you're going to have a hard time convincing them to wait a few days for it to be shipped to them.

For example, if you do proper keyword research you'll see that thousands of people do searches every month on the keyword, "cure sore throat fast."

But here's the challenge: If someone wants to cure a sore throat fast, do you think they're going to wait for you to ship a herbal remedy? No! They're looking for immediate results. And once their cold has gone, their desire to buy any kind of cough remedy will vanish along with it.

Rule #3: Don't enter a market with a massive amount of competition!

If there's already a huge number of savvy marketers selling to your intended market, you should probably choose a different market.

Take world-famous online "shopping mall" Amazon.com, for example. They're one of the hugest online vendors out there. If you decide to start your own catalog site selling a general selection of books, or music, or DVDs, how will you ever be able to compete with an industry giant like Amazon?

Unless you figure out a way to offer a lower price (doubtful) or cater to a very specific niche Amazon hasn't yet tapped (difficult), you're going to have a hard time getting your business off the ground.

Nothing is impossible... but the more competitive a market, the more time and money it will cost for you to become successful.

If these rules seem ridiculously obvious, then I apologize for wasting your time. But I had to mention them. Every day, I see budding entrepreneurs break these rules and spend weeks... months... and even years working extremely hard for minuscule results.

And it frustrates me, because I know it didn't have to be that way.

But with a different approach to all those mixtures of talents, educators, egos and speakers - here is a distinctive approach you can put to action right now.

Begin planning on offering product or services that you have some sort of experience or, products you and yours can sell for big margins and profit from it. Like accessories, electro domestic merchandise and many other similar products that require the purchase of wholesale and the immediate resale in the open market like on eBay.

If that means offering wholesale video games accessories on eBay, in-demand modern games on your own web store or any time of electronic that you at least have reachable information and can benefit from, consider testing it as long as you follow the rules of marketing. You don't want to get into a hole by starting campaigns in Pay-Per-Clicks and having zero revenue in return. So getting the right information matters now more than ever!

Like explained earlier in numerous articles, the best times for business are on these very days as there is bigger room for negotiation and anyone with certain consistencies will have covert definite advantages from a competitive standpoint. Another important point when you don't know what to immediately sell on the internet is to offer merchandise that you know is going to make you a profit when finding the right discount sources.

There is a massive scale of free directories on the internet ready for anyone to access it, do their diligence and test all the sources submitted and approved by each owner or admin of the directory. Again, if you already know about a product that you know it would make good mark-ups on sites that have immediate targeted traffic or you plan to have your own open source free script installed for you and profit by adding such products that you already made your diligence, proceed with caution and be sure to prioritize your workload at the very start.

Other than having your store design and perfected just as you wanted, every single product structured and well-detailed with information on the site, by getting started and doing something every single day you'll gain momentum. That's when things start getting really excited because you know you're just in your way to profits or even more profits depending on where are you starting or your current business start.

Few more important words! Free directories are excellent sources of information. However, do know that selecting, testing or even knowing if the submitted and approved so-called distributors, supplier or wholesaler is legit is where your real productive time in money will be measured at the end of the day in both short term and long term results. But if you've all the time in the world, they're just a great start. Still you can take intelligent short-cuts to this starting point with the help of others of course, but of course, that's just another option.
