You Are Invited To The Tony N Tinas Wedding!
by Helen Goldstein, Hel
However, it's not a real wedding; it's a dinner show. Tony n' Tina's Wedding is an exciting interactive show, which gives the participants a chance to attend every phase of this fictitious wedding gala. There is a ceremony, reception, bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, a minister and the guests. If you come, you will be actually playing the role of the members of the Nunzio and Vital families and friends.

This show is gathering the Las Vegas audience -- hungry for fun and entertainment and good food -- every night at 7 p.m. since February 4, 2002. The ticket price includes a champagne toast and a cash bar is open during the show. Traditional wedding cake is served and if you happen to think about eating, you can head to the buffet and enjoy Italian dinner.

Tony n' Tina's Wedding show was originally produced in 1988 in New York City by Joe Corcoran and Dan Corcoran. Since then it was played in over 100 cities worldwide, including Europe, Japan and Australia. Beside Las Vegas, it is also running in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit and in Canada (Vancouver and Calgary).

It's "just like a real wedding... only funnier!" -- a reviewer from Chicago Tribune wrote.

People enjoy the show that became the second longest running show in off-Broadway history because they have an opportunity to fully participate in something that is crazily funny and totally enjoyable -- just like a real wedding. It's a busy spectacle, where not only the actors, but also "the guests" walk around the room, talk with their friends and the characters, get the food, drink, dance and just have fun.

The unusual feature of the show is that the actors perform a lot of improvised sketches in it. The show doesn't have a set plot -- the audience is in fact creating it along with the cast. If you enjoy unrehearsed and spontaneous performances, you will like this show. But in order to truly enjoy it, it is recommended that you loosen up and start interacting with the actors -- like talking and maybe even dancing. During the whole show the actors are coming over to the tables and talking to the people from the audience. They hope that you will react and participate in the jokes, but they won't bother you if you just want to watch without interacting with them.

The show my look strange and chaotic, with many little side stories going on, but it makes the show very realistic -- almost like a true Italian wedding party.

If you have a sense of humor and if you are an outgoing person who is looking for some different kind of entertainment, we highly recommend that you go to see Tony n' Tina's wedding. But if you're shy, there is a chance that you may not like it because it is so interactive and you just have to get involved in the action. However, even though it's a dinner show, don't expect that you'll be served the best pizza, lasagna or meatballs in town. But at least you'll have a glass of champagne, you'll be dancing (maybe even with the bride or the priest...) and you'll be laughing a lot during almost three hours of the show.
