[B791]Bollywood New Releases Movies
by Octanentertainment, Oct
In the present scenario, a film's promotions and publicity hype has come to occupy a central place in the marketing matrixes that determines its shelf life and sustains its longevity as regards retention in the theaters is concerned but ?Kaminey? is a tad dissimilar.
A Different Orientation?

It has astoundingly broken out of these bounds and established or rather emulated a parallel trend that was kick started by ?Ghajjni?, namely churning out rumors that would entice the folks to frequent the theater, notwithstanding the fact how the flick fares at the Box-Office.

But Vishal is no Copy Cat and the axiom ?no dearth of ideas? fits his characteristic innovative self like a bulb fitting into the kink. He creates and recreates ideas until they appear ?as if custom-made? for his needs and his well formulated strategies have already borne fruits as regards the pre release promotions of ?Kaminey? is concerned.

Vishal's USP'S?

He has been thoughtful enough to have roped in Priyanka Chopra while she is still riding high on fame following her glamorous prepositions in ?Fashion? and interestingly his film happens to be the first in rupturing her ?glamorous frame? by portraying her in a deglamorised light essaying the role of a Maharashtrian simple College going girl in her early twenties. ( wearing ordinary salwar suits with minimal make-up)
His next USP lies in projecting the Chocolate Boy of Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor in dual tones (in double roles too!!) and intertwining the shades of his character with his unique look that Shahid will be sporting exclusively for his film.

Long Hair and a Well Toned yet Tanned body will make Shahid look more real and rugged, which will substantiate his claim to appear as a street smart urchin who knows his way through every situation.

The third catch point is lurid yet vivid. It has everything to do with Bharadwaj's dispassionate observation and his ability as an image builder who can metamorphosize a sinking sun and reinstate him to an all new glory. He did it with Saif in ?Omkara? and this time around its Kareena's much publicized and scathed ex, Shahid whose stars seemed to have done him no justice considering his last escapade ?Kismat Konnection.?

Lip-Locking: Real or Reel

Rumor Mills that are rife with the news of an intimate lip-locking scene being shared between the ?not too bent on attracting wrong publicity? Bollywood girlie Priyanka and ?got nothing more to lose? guy Shahid (for the film?you see) have also hinted towards a Saif-Bharadwaj fallout following Vishal's decision to cast Saif in the lead but having changed his mind to pool in Shahid instead.
The said piece of information would have met with flaming success if Kareena would have replaced Priyanka (not that is possible now but the chances look damn bleak!) and the predicament that she would have faced while choosing who she would like to be with, her present or past?

Accident or Preconceived?

By the look of things it appears that Vishal is seemingly controlling the sequence of events or may be capitalizing upon the events that have happened at a perfect juncture that incidentally coincides with the release of his film.

Following Priyanka's break-up with long time sweetheart Harmann Baweja speculations were rife regarding who's her next bet. Her growing friendship with Shahid and her informal chats on ?Twitter? added fuel to the flames facilitating the hype for the onscreen kiss that got divested with a real life passion appeal.

Was it all preconceived or is it the beginning of a reel life turning real love saga? (She was allegedly acting as the hostess at Shahid's Birthday Party, no prizes for guessing)

The Story Unfurls?

Vishal has set the stage leaving just enough room for the script to play. The look & feel of the story mimics though not in toto, the late 1980's saga of two identical twins ( Mele me bichra hua types!!) familiar in looks but varying chiefly in the way they perceive life and more importantly the directions they wish to take in their pursuit to prosperity, happiness and all the niceties that life has to offer.
Guddu and Charlie residents of Dharavi, the world's largest slum in Mumbai don't gloat over their likeliness.

Their flaming urge to make it BIG in life, the very obvious yet gnawing and unfaltering human hunger has one of them struggling as a trainee in an NGO firm while the other basks in the glory of becoming a money minting legitimate bookie one day and charts a familiar course that would help him realize his dreams. He is a street smart, ?ready to risk it all? small timer hedging bets at a race course.

The Confluence?

Their differences in ideologies do them part and they love casting aside their growing up experiences and trading it for the ?fine points? that they crave for.

They crave with an insistence that cannot be denied, or so they presume until they see their dreams falling apart like packs of cards, bringing them back to the same crossroad where they had vowed to part ways. They see Providence bringing them closer to ?share the space? instead of spacing them apart.
Priyanka (Sweety) plays the role of their childhood love interest (whom they seem to be having in common?just guessing though) while Guddu's stammers away and Charlie puts up with a lisp.

A Delectable Platter?

Vishal Bharadwaj appears to have prepared an explosive amalgamation that has a little bit of everything to make it tick.
A throbbing dark and dry comedy shot in real life locales (VT Railway station, Mahalaxmi Race Course, Dharavi and Gateway of India) with Priyanka's sans-make up look lending the perfect ?Reality Bytes? and accentuating it a notch further is, Bollywood's very own chocolate boy Shahid pepping it up with a Hollywood styled bronzed body. Guddu's speech ailment doles out as a bonus to nudge at the emotional chords of the bourgeoisie.

"Kaminey" is slated for release on the 5th of June,2009.
