Smoking Makes You Pathetic
by Dany Wickham, Dan

Sad but true smokers are one of the most pathetic and stubborn people. Continuing with their unhealthy habit even when they know that it's gonna lead them to their grave and that too after a lingering suffering, undergoing all kinds of cuttings and opening of the body under the expert hands of the surgeon, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and all kinds of therapies available to treat their cancerous body. If they had never picked this habit or left it later or heed to the advice from loved ones, this situation would have never occurred but Alas!

It is a universal truth that smoking is bad and causes much harm to our body. Even for a starter, who lights up for the first time, the effect of the first powerful kick which otherwise looks very tempting and energizing is actually hazardous. With each puff inhaled a smoker knows that his life is being cut short but because he is nicotine dependent he can't think of passing the day without smoking. Every year more than seventy percent of smokers want to quit smoking but only few are able to stay smoke free permanently.

The reason why many people fail to quit smoking permanently is due to lack of will power. Nicotine withdrawal is very hard to fight as nicotine controls the brain thereby making us feel depressed and moody especially when the level of nicotine is low in our body. Controlling the craving is so strong to overcome that it surpasses our will to stay quit; we light up again saying "just one puff" but that one puff is so powerful that it takes us back to where we began.

Smokers due to their addiction to nicotine feel reluctant to quit smoking. They know very well what will happen if they quit smoking, they think only about the difficulty of going through the withdrawal syndrome whereas they should actually look further and beyond as to what will happen and what benefits they will get if they quit smoking now. They should not be seeing only the initial days of quitting, I don't deny, it is terrible but they should not forget that once they cross that stage they are out of the danger zone and will be able to prevent self caused death.

Hardcore smokers will either smoke to the grave or will abruptly quit smoking only when they start suffering from chronic diseases. For a long time they had known that smoking will bring them down, that it will cause sickness but they believe it only when it actually happens to them. They think that they will get away with it but when they face death they become ready to quit smoking for life, sad, by then its already too late and there is little hope for survival.

There is no point in quitting smoking on the death bed when all hope is gone. But if you quit now there is ample hope for saving your life from preventable deaths which is sure to happen if you continue to smoke. For a better health and a fabulous life ahead before its too late look further beyond the withdrawal syndrome phase and make up your mind today to .

If craving and withdrawal syndrome is the thing holding you back you need not be afraid. There are many aids available now to help you overcome them. There are various Nicotine replacement therapies and pills like and chantix which are very effective as an . Chantix is latest to join the bandwagon of quit smoking drug and is found to be quite effective and popular with in short time. It works by cutting down the craving, diminishing the taste of cigarette and lessening the withdrawal syndrome. Further, it should not be forgotten that to take chantix or any treatment consult your doctor for prescription, dosage and the right kind of treatment. To better health, better life!!!!!!
