* - Do you drink before you go to work or school? * - Do you need to have a drink daily, at the same hour? * - Is drinking the first thing you do in the morning? * - Does drinking affect your family life? * - Do you experience shame or guilt after you drink? * - Do you use alcohol to give you courage? * - Do you forget important matters? * - Do you think of excuses to have more than one drink? * - Are there times when you drink alone? * - Have been drinking and driving? * - Did you have legal problems? * - Do the employers of your family members appear bothered by your drinking? * - Do you drink because you feel lonely? * - Has drinking any influence on your sleep? * - Have you experienced short-term memory problems? * - Was your image affected by alcohol? * - Do you want to drink after a party? * - Have your ambition or efficiency suffered because of alcohol?
One positive answer means an increased risk, but more than three should make you see a doctor a doctor immediately.
There are many available diagnosing tests, as breath analysis, blood exams for alcohol, or the tests of urine and hair analysis. In case you suspect a possible alcohol abuse, give it the importance it deserves and address a specialist.
