[A30]A Fairy Tale True Story
by Meaghan Clark, Mea

It's the first time that the 19 crossover sensation and best selling artist of 2008 is headlining a tour – but for Taylor Swift, her career has been all about the twists and turns of celebreality. The country singer recently announced her plans to strut her stuff as she promotes her sophomore effort Fearless. “Headlining my own tour is a dream come true!” Swift said in a press statement. “This way, I can play more music every night than I ever have before. Having written my own songs, they are all stories in my head, and my goal for this tour is to bring those stories to life.” Recognized for her elaborate music videos and stage performances that usually deal with a love lost, found or forgotten, Swift's poppy Nashville twang has previously earned her presence with Rascal Flatts, and after a few starting gigs in February and March, along with a sold out performance at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, she'll begin hitting up the middle of the country by April with stops in Indiana, Arizona, South Carolina and Missouri. Catch all the theatrics with your own Taylor Swift tickets found at http://www.stubhub.com/taylor-swift-tickets.

According to a press release, Swift's powerful voice and constant love story stage ideals will take part in the act, which includes a fairy tale castle laminated buy a million lantern lights and a total of five guitar changes for Swift. Though the newly legal star is ecstatic about getting headline support, she's also working with Keith Urban for a bit in both Australian and the UK.

Joining Swift for her own headlining jaunt is best friend and former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler. “It's always fun to be on tour and be with the fans, and to be out with Taylor, who is like a sister to me, is really awesome,” Pickler said to the Los Angeles Times. “We wrote my current single, “Best Days of Your Life” on tour together last year, and I'm sure we're going to write on the road together this year, too. So guys: you've been warned. Don't make us mad, because you might just hear about it on the radio!” Swift's crew, which supposedly also includes Carrie Underwood and Katharine McPhee, are some of the most brilliantly talented country acts in today's society, as each write as well as perform their material.

Fearless followed her 2006, triple platinum selling debut which saw every track penned by Swift, either solely or with minor help. As the first female country act to earn writing credit for a platinum selling debut, it comes as no surprise that Swift's follow up, Fearless, is likely to see similar success. Nominated for a few Grammys, the album appeared in November 2008 and charted at number one for eight weeks in a row. In just a few short months the release has sold 2.4 million copies with crossover singles like “Love Story,” “White Horse” and “Fearless” all peaking on the Billboard Pop 100. “I try to write lyrics about what's happening to me and leave out the part that I live in hotel rooms and tour buses. It's the reliability factor. If you're trying too hard to be the girl next door, you're not going to be,” Swift said to Telegram.
