The is an urban clothing line founded in 1999 by three men named Damon Dash, Karee “Biggs" Burke, and Jay-Z, which were also the heads of a hip hop label named Roc-a-Fella Records, in which the rocawear got its name.

March of 2007, Jay-Z sold the rights to the brand to Iconix Brand Group, a brand management company that licenses brands to retailers and manufacturers primarily in the apparel, footwear, and apparel accessory industries, for $204 million. But apart from the limelight and popularity, the rocawear also suffered its fair share of shame and disgrace. January 17, 2007, allegations were made of raccoon-dog fur being used in two styles of jackets, rocawear pulled all of the garments from the department stores where this product was shipped. A representative of rocawear stated the company was unaware the fur was being used and had notified manufactures it was not permitted. The items, in addition to being pulled from department stores, were also removed from the brands official website.
