I tend to have extremely bad luck while being on online dating sites. I met Nansi on one of the free online dating sites about 3 weeks prior to the actual physical date, and had been messaging each other frequently. We finally decided we'd take it to the next level and go do something fun. Big mistake. I should have known that with my clumsiness and accident prone nature that I shouldn't have stepped within 50 meters of her.
Long story made short, Ill take you through some of the events that went down with this girl I met on online dating sites. I picked her up around seven at her place, she wasn't ready?but really, who didn't see that coming? Until she was ready, we made small talk about how neither of us had really tried online dating sites before, so this was a new experience for both of us. As we left her place, I looked down and happened to notice I had a shirt wiener? now for anyone who doesn't know what that is, its when the bottom ends of your shirt are pulled through your open fly giving the impression that your wiener is made of fabric. What a great way to start my night with this girl I met on online dating sites. We both had a laugh, got into my truck and went to this awesome pizzeria not far from her place. What better way to ease into our first non online date.
Oh yeah, we order our food, but as soon as we start eating I drop my pizza, toppings side down, onto the floor. Heaven forbid? We snickered a bit more, ate our food and decided to go get a few drinks to end this date night. We pull into a nice little local pub, order some wine and a few beers, and everything seems to be going great. Until it happened, I swear, the waitress had it out for me. As she brought us the appy's we ordered, she ?accidentally? dumped them onto my lap? I jump, bumping the table, spilling the wine on my date, and making a large embarrassing scene. I paid, we left, and I feel our experience on online dating sites was better.
So I get home from this totally catastrophic date the other night with this girl I met on online dating sites, and it seemed like the forces of nature were conspiring against me, doing everything they could to prevent me from ever seeing this girl again. On the plus side? we both were still laughing at the end of the night. I think we'll stick with online dating sites at least until we are ready for another not online dating night of hilarity.
It is amazing what people fall for when they are desperate. Anyone who has looked at all of the scams on Internet offering guaranteed success in any kind of business for just a little investment most likely knows what I mean. Some persons just get crazy when they want money, and sometimes they do crazy things too when they should know better.
As insane as people get over money, however, they get even crazier over romance. People get dating advice from anyone. Others receive dating tips from psychics, from friends who have almost no relationship experiences, and from so-called experts with no professional credentials. From Dr. Phil to the palm reader down at the county fair, the world of dating advice is filled with crazy people. Even though they sometimes try to offer good advice, you are always taking a chance when you listen to them. Is it worth the risk?
I used to get relationship advice from a good friend of mine. He thought of himself as a real ladies man, but the truth was much different. He got a lot of dates with a lot of different girls it was true, but part of the reason was because none of them wanted to stay with him for more than a date or two. We thought he was such a stud at the time that we listened to his dating advice, but it was always terrible. All of his romance tips had no success. Sure, his dating advice could help us to find a date. He would help us with our relationship profile for online dating services, or perform that perfect pickup line. He would not, however, help us make our relationships last.
When you get dating advice from someone, it is important that you first know a little bit about their personal life. I am not saying that someone who doesn't have a good relationship history can't give good dating advice, but I am saying that it should make you wonder. There are some persons who can advise you the right thing to do but can't do it themselves, but for every one of them there are at least five who tell it just exactly like they do it. The bottom line is you don't have to trust a friend for dating advice just because they think they are experienced. Instead, find a friend who who had experienced at least one very stable relationship and has very good powers of self perception. Get your dating advice from that friend.
