The risk of chromosomal damage or birth defects is not increased by ART, couples who undergo ART could have other factors like age or genetic factors that might bring about complications. PGD (preimplantation genetic dignosis) is a procedure that helps identifying the fetus genetic defects and gives an option to the parents if they want to carry on or not with the pregnancy if complications appear.

The new blood vessels develop but are brittle. There might be bleeding from the newly developed blood vessels, which may lead to scarring, and your retina may get detached resulting in a damaged eyesight.
