[C901]Complete Encyclopedia Of Natural Healing
by Kevin Bauer, Kev
So why does this apparent antagonism exist between traditional and modern healers?

Natural remedies for healing have been in existence and used to aid healing for almost as long as we have history of mankind. Herbal remedies and spiritual
healing are old practices that many believe are effective - even though they are sometimes much slower to take effect on the healing process. This is one of the factors which encourage the use of modern medicine - our impatience and need for an immediate fix.

So why do natural remedies usually take longer to affect healing?

The natural remedy practitioner will argue that natural remedies do not merely mask symptoms but cure the illness at it's core. This argument has merit. An
example of this may be modern headache treatments. They are often designed to mask or deaden the pain but not really do anything about the root cause. So the
treatment wears off in a few hours and more headache medicine is needed. And this may go on for years. The traditional healer would advocate that if the cause of
the headache is addressed then the pain will be gone for ever.

Although natural remedies have been used through the ages and disrespected by many modern medical practitioners, attitudes are changing.

The role of natural remedies in healing began to considered seriously in Sweden in the early 1990's. The government there started to recognize the affectivity of natural remedies as medicinal products that contains active ingredients. They recognised that the active ingredients come from parts of plants or animals,
bacterial cultures, minerals, salts and salt solutions.

This began the slow softening of attitudes to natural remedies within the medical fraternity. They realised that that natural remedies are non-prescription drugs
used for self-medication. And quality control of the natural medication requires the sales permits issued to manufacturers of natural remedies are given with a
condition that the affectivity of their products needs to be supported heavily by research results and various documentations strengthening its affectivity and
helpfulness.

As of today, more and more doctors are recognizing that natural remedies can be effective partners to antibiotics and other medications. This notion is in
complete contrast of the old belief that natural remedies are mere folklore stories that have no basis. Society is becoming better educated and informed
about natural remedies as well. Information on how to use these remedies is available in libraries, on websites, in magazines and on television. And as
people become more aware of core healing so the pressure on the medical profession grows.

This is not to say that doctors are not effective, sympathetic or that they are bad. But more and more doctors are begining to take notice that their patients
require more than a pain reliever. They require a long term cure. And often this requires application of natural remedies.

It has been so popular that in all aspect of living from pregnancy to child rearing, asthma, allergies, diabetes and a lot of sickness including quitting
smoking and stress management all has an accompanying natural remedy cure.

In todays world of high powered advertising, social pressure for a quick fix and the simple stresses of working and playing encourages society to use modern
medicines. But the better informed the individual about natural remedial alternatives the more informed the decision about how to deal with illness.

Natural remedies prove to be effective for many and maybe it will also be effective for you. Check various websites and you will find the most effective natural remedy for you and your family.

Seriously, there is something that can help you achieve your goals, its called hypnotism. Of course the moment we hear the word "hypnotism" we get visions of the stereotypical magician, waving a pocket watch in front of a subject and then telling the poor, unsuspecting soul to act like a chicken while the subject's friends die of laughter in the audience.

What exactly is hypnotism? Hypnotism is a natural state of mind created by relaxing the body and mind. This state of relaxation opens up the brain and heightens the senses, making the subject receptive to suggestions. This state of mind is perfectly natural and similar to the one we are in when we are in right before we hit deep sleep. This is called the "alpha state".

Many of us experience the alpha state when we are daydreaming, or so involved in a good book that we totally block out anything else going on around us. Hypnotism can be a very effective tool and is more than a novelty at parties or in shows on the Vegas Strip. Athletes use it to increase their performance in competition, people also use it to overcome bad habits such as overeating or smoking. With hypnotism you are reaching the sub-conscious and speaking directly to it.

Our sub-conscious is constantly at work, it never sleeps. Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week throughout our whole life, our sub-conscious is using all five senses to collect information. At night when we sleep some of this information leaks into our dreams.

The only difference between hypnotism and self-hypnosis is whether we choose to have someone hypnotize us or do it ourselves. The truth is that either way, we are the captains of our own ships; it is the individual who decides whether they will be hypnotized. People who can relax easily and are open to the experience have a better chance of being hypnotized than someone who is tense. A common misconception is that a hypnotist can make you do anything they say. The truth is that the conscious mind is always present and you cannot be made to do anything against your will.
