If your like me you've always had a dream to own your own bar one day. To make it the kind of place you always wanted to hang out at and relax. You could have get some of those great bar stools that you can almost fall asleep on, but you don't own a bar, you got a good job instead. That means you can do something nearly as good. Now you can build a bar in your basement, and it can be the great place to hang out and watch the game.
If you happen to be handy you can save some money by making it your project. There are numerous home improvement books available that contain plans for building a proper bar. You need to be sure to plan for any plumbing you will require. Consider having a sink with at least cold water on the bar.
It is also important that the design you choose to build allows enough area for the number of bar stools you want to have on the outside. Here is a great home informational site . If you don't properly plan the bar stools you build or buy may be useless. Having bar stools that are too large with people jamming their legs or bumping each other while trying to use the bar wouldn't be any fun.
When it comes to the bar stools you will have a lot of options available to you. Everything from cheaper self assembled kit bar stools which may be nothing more then some aluminum framing and a padded seat, to luxury bar stool purchased from a specialty supplier. There is also the option of building your own custom bar stools.
This option may however leave you with something you don't particularly want to sit in if you don't have the proper skills and tools. Depending on where you are building you may be able to choose bar stools that can be bolted directly to the floor for a more authentic bar style. Believe it or not having the proper bar stool can lead to overall better health for your lower back.
Other then the bar stools it is important to have adequate refrigeration. You will only need to set aside a small amount of space for a refrigerator behind the bar. There is the option of using smaller models which may fit under the bar if you don't need a full sized fridge and freezer.
Throw in a big screen television and a couple of comfortable couches and you'll have yourself a great room that you can watch the big game in. If space will allow it, adding a pool table or dart board are great touches for a bar. Invite the guys over and relax and enjoy.
