The Dallas Zoo was founded in 1888 which makes it the oldest zoo in the state of Texas. It is home to thousands of different animals who live in the recently renovated 95 acre complex. There are a number of different exhibits in the zoo for you to tour including the "Wilds of Africa" area. This area is a must see since it has been called the top African zoo exhibit in the country. A tour of this exhibit will make you feel like you are in Africa. Hop on the Safari monorail ride and you will be treated to an exciting educational adventure as the monorail whisks you through the wilds of Africa. When you finish with the Africa area, head over to the Zoo North area and get a bite to eat at the food court or go visit the other traditional zoo favorites like the elephants, the birds of prey area, the zoo's endangered cheetahs or the reptile exhibit.
