With less than a month before the new season of Dancing with the Stars kicks in, we're now ready to check out the new batch of contenders to battle it out on the dance floor. Previously, Tori Spelling's name was being rumored to be part of the list of contenders, but her pregnancy proved that she won't be dancing with the stars anytime soon. That was unfortunate for the show, which apparently wanted to have a Beverly Hills 90210 cast member every season.
This month, TV Guide and In Touch Weekly reported possible season 6 contestants. TV Guide revealed in their most recent issue that Cheryl Ladd and Monica Seles may be competing in the upcoming season. Ladd was previously known for replacing Farrah Fawcett on Charlie's Angels in 1977. Coming back to television, Ladd appears on NBC's Las Vegas , playing Jillian Deline.
Monica Seles, on the other hand, was once the number one tennis player in the world and was the youngest winner of the French Open at 16 years old. While at the peak of her career, she was attacked on the court by a spectator. Her career had been fairly successful since then, but she could not seem to regain the success she had when she was at the top of her career.
In Touch Weekly also reported that Kristy McNichol was also being considered for the sixth season of the celebrity dance competition. McNichol is a two-time Emmy Award winner for her work on the shows Family and Empty Nest in the 1970s and 1980s. The magazine reported that she seemed to fir the demographic of the show's viewers and adds a nostalgia factor to it.
