[D16]Dancing With The Stars Season
by Buddytv, Bud
There was no surprise when Olympic figure skating gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi and her professional partner Mark Ballas won the sixth season of Dancing with the Stars. Many have predicted the landslide in terms of judges' scores, yet little did everyone know that the golden pair also had some major fan base. Early on, in fact, as the tandem constantly crushed the competition week after week, some Dancing with the Stars viewers have predicted that they're being too good will bore people and eventually boot them out. Well, it was a good thing Kristi and Mark showed some flexibility and emotion midway into the season (and even drifted to second place, definite shockers, on one or two occasions) and people apparently never got tired of them.

Viewers have also commented that this bunch is so far arguably the most talented on Dancing with the Stars. And the viewers did get a great season, with lots of great performances, not to mention some scandals, intrigues, and even a few injuries.

For starters, Kristi and Mark danced a total of four perfect 30's, the last three in the finale. Yet bypassing the scores, with Kristi's wondrous technique and fluid movements, alongside Mark's clever choreography, the pair could have easily filled the five best performances of the season. There are, of course, exceptions. For instance, football star Jason Taylor danced a mean Viennese Waltz on the fourth week. While Mario danced a sultry foxtrot on week 7 was very fluid and perfect. Shannon Elizabeth also had a dazzling Viennese Waltz performance on week 4. It was very romantic, which, looking back, is now hard to tell whether it was for real or just for show.

Rounding up the five best performances are two Kristi Yamaguchi dances. Dancing the rumba in the fifth week, it was the first time she seemed to let her guard down and just let the emotion of the dance take her. And during one of the final performances, dancing the freestyle, Kristi and Mark really pulled all the stops.

Dancing with the Stars has always attempted to bring in a good mix of celebrity "has been" contestants. In its latest season 4, it has featured a bunch of notable personalities such as Ian Ziering, Heather Mills, Billy Ray Cyrus to name a few. Most recently, Dancing with the Stars season four has come to its end, which makes way for much buzz about the program's fifth season.

So what can fans expect from Dancing with the Stars season 5? Apparently, execs have been eyeing to include former Spice Girl Melanie "Scary Spice"

Brown and Beverly Hills 90210 actress Tori Spelling.

Dancing with the Stars has already took in a Beverly Hills 90210 alum in its recent season four so it wouldn't really be a surprise to learn if the execs would go for Spelling. Beverly Hills costar Jason Priestly has already expressed his sentiments in the past regarding Dancing with the Stars.

Despite his delight on watching the show and in supporting costar Ziering in his performance, he maintains that he won't be dancing on the popular program any time soon as he is stirring away from reality based shows.

As for Spelling, it seems like she clearly sees what Ziering meant when he stressed that his participation on the show is a once in a life time opportunity that should not be put to waste, as she has already eagerly pursued the spot.

Observably, Dancing with the Stars has often featured at least one "controversial" personality every season. Last season 4, the program has included Heather Mills in the height of her divorce with Sir Paul McCartney.

In the upcoming season, many believe that "Scary Spice" will be taking Mills ? spot. The 32-year old pop singer and songwriter is currently going through a high profile battle with actor Eddie Murphy.
