Dancing with the Stars sent home a couple tonight, leaving only four more to battle it out on the dance floor. Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts were surprised to hear that they were saved, despite garnering the lowest points last night. Apparently, they also garnered enough fan support to stay in the competition, and make it to the semi-finals next week. The massive support was probably due to Osmond's father's recent death, and how this had affected her performance on the celebrity dance competition.
Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough were the next to be saved, as they did very well last night, and thus was asked to do an encore of the quickstep routine that helped them garner a perfect score.
Guest performers tonight include Gloria Estefan who sang "A Bailar" from her new album, "90 Millas," and her famous single "Conga." World-famous choreographer and dancer, Fatima Robinson also performed on the Dancing with the Stars stage.
Aside from guest performances, Dancing with the Stars gave us a peek into the lives of the professional dancers. It's good to see that after five seasons, they are finally given recognition after their hard work on the highly-watched show. A little revelation was made, and viewers learned that everyone thinks Edyta Sliwinska is hot.
This week, the bottom two were not revealed, but it was announced that Jennie Garth and Derek Hough are still in the competition, as well as Melanie Brown and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Unfortunately for Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska, they had the lowest combined total of votes and points, and thus was sent home tonight.

Dancing with the Stars airs on Mondays, 8/7c with the results show on Tuesdays, 9/8c.
As an introduction, an announcement was made, saying that Marie Osmond's father had passed away this morning, thus the Dancing with the Stars contender had to stay home and spend time with the mourning family, instead of going on to compete alongside her partner, Jonathan Roberts. The judges let the audiences know, however, that the pair had garnered enough votes to stay in the competition.
Having a couple out of the picture tonight, there was quite a lot of time to fill in, thus country singer LeAnn Rimes performed twice, and two dance analysis breaks were featured with Dancecenter (with Kenny, Len and Jerry Rice), as well as a break dancing performance by the Rock Steady Crew, a b-boy group hailing from the Bronx.
Len requested Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy to encore their performance of the pasa doble, which they showcased yesterday. Of course, audiences took this opportunity to stare at their wonderful costumes.
Apparently, Mel B and Maksim Chmerkovskiy garnered a perfect 30 for their performance on the pasa doble, and subsequently garnered enough votes to stay in the competition beyond tonight.
The other pairs remaining safe in the competition were actor and TV host Cameron Mathison and Edyta Sliwinska, and as mentioned earlier, entertainer and singer Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts.
The last spots were to be filled by IndyCar Series driver Helio Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough, and actress Jennie Garth and Derek Hough, who made it into the safe zone. Tonight's cast aways were none other than Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani, who have ended their stint on Dancing with the Stars.
