Many people would like to undergo plastic surgery but are not doing so because they are afraid of its results in case something goes wrong. Maybe, if they look at the famous people who have failed to make plastic surgery work for their benefit, they will see that they should really be afraid of it. Here you can find a short list of those famous people who have undergone awful plastic surgery and have not got any better because of it, if not worse.
The first one is of course Michael Jackson. He deserves to top the list of the least successful plastic surgery cases. As he has undergone the whole series of surgical procedures, Jackson can almost certainly be called one of the scariest famous people on the whole planet. Once he was a pretty black child but now he looks more like a pale ghost. I guess we do not have to explain everything - everybody seems to know about this fact.
The next is Melanie Griffith. There is no denying the fact that she used to be an astonishing and fresh-faced beauty, especially in the eighties, but as she has put an excessive amount of collagen on her face, her skin seems to be too tight. Some people even say that it has become impossible for her to smile. The best she is capable of is a miserable grimace.
Another ex- sensation whose appearances have changed for the worse after plastic surgery is Farrah Fawcett. She used to be the queen of the blockbuster series Charlie's Angels and one of the most admired poster girls in the world. Now, however, after she has done something to her face, it looks distorted - with a lopsided nose and strange-looking eyes.
A black singer Lil Kim seems to be eager to follow the footsteps of Michael Jackson. She has done some surgery to become a bit whiter along with making some changes to her eyes, nose and lips. Well, she used to look emotional and hot, but now she is more like a gremlin.
And the last but not least - Kylie Minogue, who used to be the source of sex appeal. But as a result of numerous botox treatments, her tight face resembles a drum. Of course, she has no wrinkles on her forehead, but her face is too rigid and unnatural.

There are certainly risks in cosmetic plastic surgery. Within the last years the risks could be reduced so that serious complications happen in less than 1 percent of all patients. This is an excellent safety record and one of the reason is the increasing number of certified plastic surgeons and the big advances in technology and the development of new surgery techniques.

There are several dangers of plastic surgery though. There is a higher risk of blood clots in patients that are overweight, had a traumatic injury recently, have a problem with the heart, lungs or nervous system or have a history of cancer or having hormone problems.

What else plays a role? If your general health condition is good then your risks are lower. If you have any diseases like diabetes, arthritis or a heart disease for example you are at higher risk. You should disclose all health conditions to your surgeon.

Smoking is very bad. It increases the risk of infection dramatically. A study has shown a that smoking increases the risks by 1500% when having a face lift. You should stop smoking at least 2-3 weeks before and after the surgery to lower the chances for serious complications.

You are the perfect candidate when you are not overweight, not smoking, not drinking and live a healthy lifestyle. If you don't meet any of these criteria you may think about changing your lifestyle before having a plastic surgery.

There are ten times more women getting plastic surgery than men and the numbers are increasing. With so many surgeries performed there is always something happening that was not part of the plan. Liposuctions and breast augmentations are the most demanded surgery procedures, two procedures that have a high risk of blood loss and infection.

Often it is not the surgery but the anesthesia that can be the reason for troubles when the doctor has to insert a tube. The problem of blood loss can lead to serious heart problems during the surgery.

Often an infection is the reason behind a failed surgery. That's why you must take antibiotics for up to two weeks after a surgery to avoid possible complications. There is no other way to control the risk of an infection.

Although the statistics are very good, you still should remind yourself about the risk factors and how you can reduce them. A cosmetic surgery is still like any other surgery with side effects and complications.
