[D330]Different Types Of Garden
by Richard70 Tucker70, Ric
Benches, gates, garden chairs, garden tables, statues, out door lights, trellises, towers and obelisks are all various kinds of garden furniture that is used in beautifying gardens.

Benches:
Benches can be placed just anywhere in the garden. The main use of a bench in a garden is to provide space for seating. But they are not used for just this purpose it is also used as an object of visual interest that also helps to create a garden like atmosphere. They can be used either alone or can be teemed with other garden furniture. It can be kept open or against a wall. It looks best when it is teemed up with other kinds of garden furniture. By adding other furniture to it like garden tables or garden chairs the ambience it creates looks pleasing. Chairs are also an alternative option that is used for seating purposes in a garden. A garden chair is always preferred over a bench even though a bench is the traditional seating equipment in a garden since garden chairs can provide a good back support as well, unlike benches.

Gates:
The gates are another sought after piece of garden furniture. Since that is the first piece of thing that is noticed even before actually entering the garden it gives an impression about what the garden could be about. They can to a large extent set the mood of the garden. There are many kinds of gates that are available in the market. They are distinguished by the size, design, material that they are made from etc. On the basis of material they can be made out of either wood, wrought iron etc. Gates that are made from wood look more eco friendly, like they are blending with the nature, and can give you a feel of getting away from the usual city life.

Statues:
Statues are something that can bring a life to the garden. They are used solely for decorative purposes unlike the other types of garden furniture. There are many parameters that have to be looked into before picking up a statue since it can give the garden a totally new look. Factors like the kind of statue, the height and weight of the statue, the size of the statue; the material it is made from, its texture, color etc can all add to the overall look that you want to achieve. They can be placed near to garden chairs and garden tables for an interesting feature.

Arbors:
This is a three dimensional archway. It forms a good geometric pattern. It is available in various materials like wood or wrought iron. It is also available in various sizes. It can create a very dramatic effect to the entire scene. They can be used as an entrance to a sand pit or the play area or the seating area.

Outdoor lights:
They are basically used to illuminate the gardens. At nights they can have an amazing effect on the garden if the right lights are used to illuminate the right places. They are available in different colors. The solar power lights are becoming increasingly popular. They are also used as a safety tool and will highlight your sitting area with your garden furniture.

Lots of people consider their garden as an extension of their home or living area; a living area to be beautified just as they would want to decorate the interior of their house. Much of the beauty comes from the garden layout, the plants and flowers, the trees, the terraces, and the lawns. Such beauty can be brought to life by the birds and butterflies that visit the garden. It can also be further enhanced by the choice and use of garden d'cor.

There are many types of garden decor that you can consider when designing or improving your garden. The use of the word 'decor' is traditionally used for the decoration of a house interior, which includes the furniture, accessories, and even the wall treatments, there is no reason that a garden, an extension of the home living space, should not also be considered in the same way. In this article, we shall use the terms ?garden d'cor? as the decoration added to the garden plants, shrubs and flowers, both for functional and aesthetic purposes.

Statues ? Statues go way, way back to ancient times as a popular decor item for any area. While classic statues may have been on a grand scale, and for public sites or stately homes and country mansions, there has also been a special niche for smaller statues that are used to beautify smaller, more modern gardens. These come in varied styles, such as cherubs and angels. Other popular designs include cats, dogs, lions, frogs, and other domestic or wild animals.

Waterfalls and Fountains ? Experienced landscape artists know that a garden's appearance and ambience can be significantly enhanced by the addition of water elements. Most people appreciate both the sight and sound of water, and it is definitely an aid to relaxation. In fact, I know I am not the only person in the world who finds it relaxing sitting or strolling by water. Artificial fountains and waterfalls can make an impressive difference to your garden. These can be incorporated into a water garden or just added as stand-alone elements.

Planters ? The containers or planters used for some of your plants can be an important feature of any garden, especially for those with terraces or patios. Some people even consider planter gardening as a specific type of gardening in itself. There are many helpful books on the subject if you want to learn the best plants to grow in a confined planter. You will find a wide range of designs, made from a choice of materials. You will easily find planters made out of concrete, terra cotta, fiberstone, fiberglass, or plastic.

Other Items ? Don't let yourself be limited to what I have mentioned here. The possibilities and options for decorating your garden are endless. For particular holidays, such as Christmas and Valentine's Day, you may find ornaments and decorations to hang outside or stick in the ground. Then there are other types of decor that may be multi-purpose, with a functional or decorative use, like garden lighting or bird houses.

Allow your imagination some leeway as you design your garden, and observe from visiting public gardens, read magazines, and browse the Internet. Chances are, you will discover new ideas that will reenergize your garden and become the envy of everyone.
