[D329]Different Types Of Forests
by Daniel Millions, Dan
Vehicles are the non-living means of transport and they are used all around the world for different purposes. Most of the vehicles are made by human beings but there are some vehicles that are not made by human beings. Floating tree trunks and icebergs are some of the vehicles which are not made by humans and cars, bicycles and boats are some of the vehicles which are made by humans.

As a result of the creativity of human beings and the development in technology, a number of vehicles have been developed over the past few years and more advanced vehicles are being developed. Vehicles differ from each other on the basis of driving force, load carrying capacity and the purpose.

A number of vehicles have been developed for carrying out specific purposes like boats have been developed for carrying humans and cargo over the water whereas aircrafts have been developed for carrying humans and cargo through the air. Also, some vehicles are powered by electric motors whereas some vehicles don't use electric motors for their working. A rickshaw is an example of a vehicle which does not use an electric motor as it is powered by human beings.

Watercraft: A watercraft is a vehicle which is used to move through the water. It can be used for different purposes as it can be used for transport, commerce, physical exercise and pleasure. It is even used by army for carrying out some missions. Boats, rafts, submarines are some of the watercrafts.

Aircraft: An aircraft is a vehicle which is used to travel through the Earth's atmosphere. An aircraft is either used for traveling from one place to another or for transporting goods from one place to another. It is faster than vehicles which are used on land and which are used on water. Also, aircrafts can carry large amount of cargo when compared to land vehicles and aircrafts are also very expensive when compared to other vehicles.

Proper training is required in order to run an aircraft. Aerostats and aerodynes are the two categories of aircrafts. Aerostats use buoyancy to float in the air whereas a dynamic upthrust is required for aerodynes in order to push the aircraft upwards. Rockets, airplanes, helicopters are some of the popular aircrafts.

Hovercraft: A hovercraft is a vehicle which is designed to travel over a smooth surface. It is supported by the high-pressure air as the high-pressure air is ejected downwards i.e. against the surface below the vehicle. The high-pressure air lifts the vehicle so that it can move easily over the surface.

One engine is required for driving the fan available at the bottom of the hovercraft and one or more engines are required for providing the thrust so as to propel the craft in the desired direction. Hovercrafts are used by companies for transporting goods from one place to another and they are also used by armies for carrying out missions that are to be executed over the seas and oceans.

Land Vehicles: Land vehicles are the vehicles which are used on land. A land vehicle can be animal-powered, human-powered or motor-powered. In an animal-powered vehicle, the driving force is produced by animals whereas driving force is produced by humans in a human-powered vehicle. An electric motor is used for producing the driving force in a motor-powered vehicle. Motor-powered vehicles are faster than animal-powered and human-powered vehicles.

That being said, land vehicles are further classified on the basis of their usage as they are also categorized as construction vehicles, emergency vehicles and commercial vehicles. As for the examples of land vehicles, carts, sledges are examples of animal-powered vehicles and bicycles, rickshaw, skates are examples of human-powered vehicles. Cars, buses, tucks, motorcycles are some of the widely used motor-powered vehicles.

Considering an advance booking of parking space in the airport? Great idea; it will save a lot of your money as well as your precious time. But you can get even cheaper deal, if you are informed about many features of airport parking. As for instance, an indoor parking is more expensive than an open air lot. Similarly there may be restrictions on the entrance of certain types of cars in the airport parking for security reasons. If you are aware of the different types of airport parking, it will be easier for you to choose the most suitable one for you.

Short-term and long-term parking
In all major airports, all around the world, you will come to find that the parking facilities are divided into two types of bays: short-term and long-term parking bays.

The short term parking spaces are typically very close to the Terminals of the respective airports. The rates for these types of parking bay are determined on a per hour basis. Discount rates are available only after a specific number of days.

In contrast, long term airport parking is meant to provide shelter to the cars over an extended stretch of time, often for more than four to five days. These are cheaper than the short term parking lots. During the busy seasons, you have to be lucky enough to secure place in this parking area without an advance booking. So during the seasonal rush, you have to take good care of booking the parking space well in advance, so that you do not have to opt for the more expensive short term parking as the last resort.

Terminal Parking
In many US airports you will come to find the term, terminal parking. This Parking is accessible from the Departure (Upper) Level only. The terminal parking usually consists of multiple numbers of four parking structures. There can be height restriction for certain types of the vehicles from entering this parking.

Valet Parking
This facility is also known as meet and greets facility. You can avail this service when you are in a real hurry and have no time to wait for the shuttle service to the terminal. In that case, a parking company executive will come up to you and you just need to handover the charge of your car to the man, who will safely park your car. On return, you will again be picked up by the company driver. The valet parking areas are usually located on the departure level of the terminal.

Terminal Curbside Parking
If you are lucky enough to be driven by one of your friends to the airport, you should be careful of the area where to park your vehicle for getting down from the car and taking luggage off the car. Generally, curbside parking is only meant for quick loading or unloading and the driver is not allowed to stay beyond a specified period of time.
