[D204]Design Your Own Business Card Online
by Viojieley Gurrobat, Vio

For big businesses, seeking the help of professional printers help them create professional and sleek looking business cards. But for small business working on a tight budget, availing of these professional services can be costly for them. So what could a small business owner do? They can always consider making their own business cards. Although own made business cards do not always express a professional image, they can still convey a feeling of commitment that can assure potential customers of the dedication and expertise that you put in your products and services. In addition, you can produce the exact number of cards you need when you need them and when you run out or need to change some information, producing new ones is simple, quick and easy.

When you do decide to create your own business card you have to have a computer, a printer, business card paper and the necessary software. Some of the information that you need to include in your business card are your name, address, phone, email plus your business name and logo. You can also include a brief description of your services or your business slogan. As much as possible keep the images and graphics simple. Avoid also using clip art images because it tends to make your card look cheap. Instead, use scanned photos or artwork that is appropriate for your business theme.

If you intend to print the card in different colors limit it to one or two colors only and use a good business card paper. Make sure that the paper is compatible with your printer to avoid any problems when printing. Glossy paper can always be a good choice but they can cost more than the matte papers. So buy only the paper that fits your budget and printing need.

You can leave the other side of the card blank to allow the customer to write there the date and time of their appointment with you. You can also print a map of your location at the back or include there direction on how to locate your store. Once you have given your card to potential customers they will keep it in their wallet and always have your information at their fingertips. Hence, when designing and creating your own business card, remember to employ some creativity in it to achieve the impact that you want. So get started with your own business card as soon as you can and remember to make it put your best face forward.

A print business card might be tied heavily to you, but that doesn't mean your business cards shouldn't be able to function on their own as well. The three things I'm going to mention have to do with allowing your business card to function without you being there. This way you can get the most from your business card printing.

First off does your business card tell anyone about who you are and what you do? This doesn't have to be a lot of information but it should always be there. Sometimes this can be achieved in a single sentence that says what job you do, and that alone can tell people something about who you are as a person.

The reason why this can be so important is because a person isn't likely to care about calling you up if they aren't sure what it is that you do. When handing your business card out in person this isn't a concern, because you're there to tell them what you do, but if your card is to act on its own, you have to give people a reason to call you.

Next, does your card give people a reason to contact you? They now know what it is that you do, but are you letting them know why they should use your services or how you can help them out in the long run?

In case you haven't noticed what I'm doing is taking three common elements of what you would be saying in person were you talking to someone, and applying them to your business card. The first thing a person does when talking to someone in person is explains who they are, and the goes into the reason why the other person should use their services.

Your business card needs to do just the same. How you go about accomplishing this is up to you, but be sure people know who you are and why they should contact you.

Finally you need to have a closing argument on your business card. This sums up what the person should do next. Consider this the closing argument that you would use when talking to someone in person. This might be as simple as saying call me today, or you might tell them to set up an appointment right away. The decision is yours about what you want people to do the most.

If you view business card printing in the same way you would any other kind of marketing you're naturally going to get more out of it. Don't just shove your business cards aside as something only useful when handed out in person. Turn your business cards into a true means of marketing. It doesn't take long to do and the business card you'll end up with will be that much more useful.
