[A267]Advantages Of Electronic Media

Often SEO doesn't even make the list of many online businesses. In the study conducted over a two month period, project managers at 10e20, LLC administered a 10-question survey to over 100 of its existing website design/redesign clients who do not subscribe to their SEO services and over 550 prospects. Project managers and account executives at the search engine marketing and web solutions firm wanted to know why clients sometimes shied away from even discussing SEO as an option, when it is one of the best - if not the best - ways to market a website. For more details visit www.seo-prediction.com. The survey offered very few surprises with responses centering on misconceptions of cost and ignorance of what exactly SEO entails.

When asked, "Why does search engine optimization not play a role in your online marketing plans?" more than 70% of respondents said that "cost is a factor". But 65% of those respondents admitted to using sponsored ads. What responds seem to forget, or are unaware of, is that monthly rates for SEO are often cheaper than those of PPC (Pay per Click).

When asked, "How much does your PPC campaign cost you monthly?" more than 75% respondents who admitted to using PPC chose the over $1000 option. Because over 66% of searchers are more likely to choose the "natural" search engine results (those acquired through SEO as opposed to PPC) many websites do not receive the targeted traffic they expect from PPC.

And when asked if they believed their ROI (Return on Investment) on PPC was satisfactory, more than 62% of respondents chose the "No" option instead of the "Somewhat" or "Yes" option. Again, because online businesses are sometimes paying very high click-thru rates only to receive minimal sales, they feel that they often feel that they are not receiving enough bangs for their buck.

While the impromptu study does not claim to be a representation of all private businesses, it does offer a means of gauging views on search engine optimization held by the "average" SME (Small to Medium Enterprise). Furthermore, through this study, execs at 10e20, LLC know that now, more than ever, better education about natural search engine optimization and its benefits needs to be disseminated to online businesses that are still skeptical about SEO. Because, while for many online businesses SEO might seem like another risky, untried frontier, if they were to do a real apples to oranges comparison between SEO and other online marketing strategies such as sponsored and banner ads, it is likely that they would see the cost-effectiveness and quality traffic that SEO better affords.

Search engine optimization, or SEO, refers to the process of increasing your websites position in the search engines results pages of search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. In today's competitive online marketplace, failing to leverage search engines to drive traffic to your website is a big mistake, especially when it is inevitable that your competitors will be doing exactly that. When it comes to deciding how to commit to SEO, some businesses choose to outsource to an SEO company or an SEO consultant however other businesses choose to undergo SEO training as a means of ensuring they have the in-house skills necessary to guide strategy, allot resources and truly represent the long-term goals of their business. Following are reasons why investing in SEO training for your IT or marketing function is better than fully outsourcing SEO to a sub-contractor and leaving your position in the search engines fully in their hands.

Understanding of Your Market

When it comes to your business, nobody knows it better than your company. When it comes to choosing keywords that you would like to rank for, it is difficult for a company that only has skills in SEO to know what words are likely to imply intent towards your products and services. For example, an SEO company may choose to invest your resources into ranking your business for keywords such as ?learn html? if you are a web design company. However, as a web design company you would understand that someone conducting a search for ?learn html? is likely wanting to learn about web design, without a view to outsourcing it. It is also the case that you will be able to perform competitive analysis with a full understanding of your sector, your competition, and their offerings.

Protecting your Brand Assets

SEO companies, in an effort to impress clients, may opt to undertake strategy that will help your company in the short term, at the detriment of your websites long term potential. Once your company has undergone SEO training, even if you decide to outsource, you will be able to instruct your SEO Company as to what strategy you are banning them from undertaking. For example, blatantly buying links for your website may provide good short term results, however in the long run customers that see this will lose trust in your company; and ultimately so will the search engines at the rate their algorithms are progressing.

No Conflict of Interest

An SEO company, or consultant, may suggest allotting more resources into search engine optimization than you feel you will get a return from once you have underwent training and are aware of the likely benefit of undertaking certain tactics. Through having a deeper understanding of your businesses marketing channels and through also understanding the opportunity cost of decisions; you will be able to ensure that resources allotted in the best way for your bottom line. Because an SEO company ultimately earns more when you allot more resources to SEO, you can take this conflict of interest out of the equation entirely.
