Romance is important in any relationship. With busy work schedules, kids, school, and whatever occupies our daily lives, romance and love can often take the backseat to other matters that seem more important than the time. Marriages and relationships suffer when romance is not active between two people, and love can often go sour for one or both persons. If your relationship is suffering from a lack of romance, try anyone of these following tips to bring the fire back into your relationship.

It is important to compliment your partner whenever you can. Don't overdo it because you may end up sounding fake, but do it enough so that your partner knows he is on your mind. If your husband normally has a mustache or some other form of facial hair and shaves it all off one day, take notice and compliment him on the new look, even if you don't like it. If your wife puts on a new dress, a new pair of jeans, or does her hair slightly different, take notice and compliment how beautiful she looks. Little compliments are an ego booster and lets your partner know that you notice these changes, regardless of how subtle or big they are.

Leave I love you and other sweet notes in random places. If you help pack your spouse's lunch, then put a little note in there. If you happen to be packing sandwiches, spell out I love you in mustard on the back of the sandwich bread. Share a piece of that chocolate, cookie, or other treat as a surprise. If you take a shower before your spouse does, write a sweet note on the steamy mirror after you take a shower so she will receive her note after she steps out of the shower. If you have two cars, leave a note on your spouse's windshield. Other random places where notes can be tucked in are underneath the pillow, in his shaving kit, in his pants pocket, in her wallet, and in the book she is currently reading.

Be spontaneous and suggest an outing when your partner least expects it. Your destination does not have to be an expensive five-star restaurant or have to include spending a lot of money. Spontaneity keeps the romance afloat and keeps your relationship on its toes. The majority of relationships today are stuck in a boring, mundane routine and desperately need a little change to bring the spark back in the relationship. That little change can come in the form of a random picnic in the park, stroll through the beach, drive to a smaller town, or even sightseeing.
