The world's top 3% are the ones that are truly healthy, happy, successful, and financially free. The amazing part about "The 3 Percenters" is that they usually have no idea how they really became successful in the first place! That's why you'll so often hear them say things like, "Oh, it was just luck" or "You have to believe in yourself" or even more maddeningly, "Just do it".
Sure luck, belief and action are all part of success. But that still leaves most people with only about a thousand questions about how to actually let yourself succeed to your full potential.
I used to work ridiculously long hours at jobs I hated and still never got ahead. I used to try visualizing, goal setting, working hard, and everything else ? but never got what I really wanted. One morning, I was in the shower when I had a realization that changed my life. I realized that you can say motivational statements or "affirmations" 'til the cows come home ? but still never believe the positive things you're saying to yourself. "Affirmations" will almost never produce the results you want.
That's what most people do. They see movies like "The Secret" and think all they have to do is say a bunch of positive things and their lives will magically turn around. They stop themselves from getting what they really, really want!
For the rest of your life you're going to see people who are getting the opportunities that you want. Or you're going to be talking to someone, in a business or sales situation, and think that there's something else you should be saying to get the results you want. Or you're going to sitting at your computer and wondering why so many other people are making lots of money?
The question is, are you going to know exactly what to do and say to succeed? Or are you going to let each of these opportunities slip by and never know what might have happened? I personally invested over 20 years and thousands of dollars to learn how to be successful in life and business.
You might want to become an entrepreneur who helps people and donates to worthy causes. You might be looking to grow your business or increase your sales. Or attract particular life situations to you. Or lose weight. Or find the love of your life. That's fine. But you have to do something about it.
It might sound crazy, but the #1 reason that people hold themselves back from success is because they are unconsciously trying to protect someone from their own success. The problem is, if you're doing this, you're probably completely unaware that you're even doing this in the first place, let alone WHY you're doing it ? and you sure don't know how to fix it.
If you don't make the decision to get your life handled right now, there's a very, very small chance that you're going to do anything about it in the future.
Do you think too much? It can be good for your future, but the chances are you are spending too much time in thinking. Some times, lack of initiative will prevent you from becoming an achiever. The reason behind excessive thinking can be your fears. Your fears might be stopping you from doing things. In fact they may be forcing you into a 'thinking trap'. You need to get out of this trap. Procrastination will only lead to the loss of opportunities. New opportunities don't enter into our life every day. Therefore, don't just get stuck! Handle your fears by reassuring yourself, that your fears are the product of your negative thoughts. You do not need to restrict yourself based on something that has not occurred. For instance, if you want to start a new electronics business then you shouldn't hold your self back due to the fear of losses.
Fear is a negative force that that restricts you from excelling in your life. You don't want to try out new things simply because you are afraid. However, you have to over come this fear barrier. Think of the time you didn't go after that promotion because you feared you were not good enough. Due to fear we restrain ourselves from achieving things in our life. It denies us the gladness and success that we deserve. It keeps us from achieving our goals.
You can deal with your fear with curiosity. Simply ask yourself why you are afraid? Effective use of curiosity will bring many wonderful changes inside you. You will be simply inspired to explore new subjects when you are curious. Therefore, make conscious use of curiosity to resolve your fears and improve your learning experience. Sometimes, our knowledge is too much restricted about a subject. This is because we have only learnt few facts about the whole situation. Curiosity plays an important role by forcing us to look further in to the topic and discover the bigger picture. Once you have a holistic view of the situation chances are you won't have anything to fear. Smaller problems and setbacks will not worry you since, you have a complete idea of what you are doing and will plan for alternatives.
Face your fears with knowledgeable insights. Once you grasp the meaning of the reason behind your fear, they can simply disappear. Therefore, develop a habit for learning. In this way you can increase your knowledge benefiting yourself from the increased awareness. A person with little information on a subject can easily get stuck, however a person with wealth of information can find ways to solve his or her problems. So, never hold yourself from asking questions. Ask a question whenever you feel like, it is going to ensure that you learn new things as you grow old and wise. Remember, learning is also about making mistakes. You can't learn without doing something wrong. So don't be afraid of committing mistakes as fear will only stop you from progressing in your life. In fact take a bold step and start your new undertaking. By taking one step a time, you can ensure your long term survival and success. Fears are the chains and shackles that can hold you back. You have to break yourself free of the restrictive thinking to conquer your fears. In fact, it just takes a moment to defeat your most dreaded fears.
