by Ken Morris, Ken
Actually there are a lot of things you could do as a couple to make your nest your dream home, especially in the house interior. Read through these tips and try a few. You may soon find yourself venturing deeper into the world of home remodeling.

The first and easiest way to give new life to your home is to (drum roll please), clean it. Get out that mop and bucket and give the whole place a good scrubbing. Wash the floors, the window treatments, the rugs, everything. Once you get started you will see how a good cleaning can give your home a whole new look. While you're cleaning, you may notice areas that need repairs or that need your decorator touch. Your home will retain that beautiful look if you make a point to clean at least once a month.

Relatedly, while you are cleaning, you should also be decluttering. Your home will look more like a showplace if you move that pile of laundry. Get rid of those stacks of magazines. Ditch that pile of clothes that no longer suits you. Notice that those places in the home decor magazines always show a space clear of clutter. Your home will look so much better without it. Like cleaning, your home will continuing looking great if you declutter regularly. And remember the old adage: If you bring a new thing in, take an old thing out.

Now that your home is spick and span, you may notice places that look rather empty and dull. Try going to rummage sales or garage sales. You may find the perfect picture to hang in that corner. Or you may find a scented candle or a picture frame for your mementos. Get inspired. But not too inspired so you don't replace the clutter you just got rid of.

Another easy, cheap way to renew your home is a familiar tip: A coat of paint can really change the whole look of a room. You could paint the entire wall or you can experiment with a stencil or a faux finish. Some people even use an old window frame hung on the wall and paint a "view" within it. Check out home improvement and paint stores. You will find plenty of ideas to choose from. The staff will be able to help you too.

See, home improvement projects don't necessarily have to be expensive or require degrees in architecture and interior design. Once you see what these small efforts accomplish, you just may be ready to try for more. Have fun.
