[E56]Easy Exercise At Home
by Michael Madigan, Mic
Stress comes from all sides these days, in home and workplace. Computer related stress - caused typically by crashing or malfunctioning programs, slow downloads, irritating emails or just sheer job repetition and figuring out how to do things online- can build up and cause you to feel bad, and eventually make you ill.Assuming you aren’t obese, pregnant or have any condition that could be made worse by exercise, here are 10 tested and useful tips for staying cooler and fitter at the PC.

1/ Exercise your eyes by looking away from your PC, and focussing on distant objects. Dont look at any one object too long, a few seconds will do.

2/ Exercise your breathing. Relax and breathe in and out deeply and slowly for about 30 seconds. Close your eyes if you wish, but don't fall asleep!

3/ Exercise your neck by turning your head gently to the left then to the right a few times. Don't strain.

4/ Exercise your wrists by holding them in front of you and gently rotating clockwise and anticlockwise a few times. Again, please don't strain.

5/ Exercise your elbows. Move your arms to the front, rest the tips of your fingers on your shoulders, and rotate your elbows in small circles 10 times clockwise. Relax, then do the same, rotating your elbows in an anticlockwise direction.

6/ Exercise your hands. Place them by your sides, palms downward facing and at right angles to your arms. Make 10 SMALL circles with each hand, clockwise and anticlockwise.

7/ Exercise your shoulders. With head and neck relaxed, squeeze your shoulders upwards towards your ears. Relax. Now reach downward at both sides for a few seconds, not bending and keeping your arms straight. Relax.

8/ Exercise your back by standing and GENTLY flexing your body forward and backward a couple of times. Don’t bend too far, and STOP if you feel dizzy.

9/ Exercise your legs by walking away from your PC at least once an hour. Try taking mini-breaks at your keyboard every 5 minutes or so.

10/ Exercise your whole body by healthy living away from the computer. Sport, meditation, a good diet and meditation will all help raise your overall stress resistance.

Bonus tip: if you feel embarrassed, start with eye, hand, wrist and neck exercises. But remember that breaks are important too!Gently and gradually exercise your PC stress away, and you'll achieve better productivity, plus healthy more relaxed computing thru 2006 and beyond!

Really few of us have the time anymore to exercise hard regularly, but anyone can do some easy exercise. Although we may go to the gym now and then, many of us are seeking for a way that we can integrate easy exercise into our everyday activities. This is certainly possible but the easy exercise is going to require some effort on your side to a definite extent. Even though it may not appear much like exercise, any activity that you do is recognized as an easy exercise, even if you are going to do it frequently or not. A good instance of an easy exercise is choosing how to park your car properly.

Certainly a car is one of the more comfortable things that we own. Because of the soaring price of gas, it has also turned out one of the more costly things that we own. Many of us have ceased driving every time when it is unnecessary so to recover money on gas. Did you conceive that this can not only save you money but it can be an easy exercise and it may factually help you to get in shape? Finally, if you live near enough to your workplace and store, you may be able to let your car sit in the driveway and step to anywhere you're heading.

One thing that you don't want to do is to engage in a very distant walk if you are fit for the challenge. For example, if you live 10 miles afar your workplace should not try to walk to and from your workplace on a everyday basis if you have never stepped so much before, that would not be an easy exercise for you. That doesn't mean that you cannot get some easy exercise in, in the meanwhile. Rather than walking to work, why not pull your cycle out and ride your bicycle to the workplace on every day? Bicycling is an pleasureable fun and easy exercise, you will arrive there just about quickly along with doing a lot of easy exercise in the process.

For easy exercise you may also make smarter decisions when it comes to parking your car when you do go out. Rather than driving around for a few minutes searching for the place that is nearest to the shop, park as further in the car park as possible and walk there. It may not appear so much but it is not compulsory for you to do all of your walking at once for taking advantage of it. Take 12 five-minute walks in a week and you will have an hour under your belt. It is really an easy exercise and that simple.
