[D491]Do It Yourself Solar Energy
by Dynamic Blue Link, Dyn
Most people base their ideas about Solar energy on outdated information. Many people continue to believe it is a weak energy that could hardly be used the way our current energy sources are used. This is not true.

Solar energy has been researched and worked on to the point where it is far more advanced than ever before. The uses for solar energy are growing fat as researchers develop more and more ways to utilize it, store it and generate energy with it.

In fact, solar energy is being used currently to do many tasks our current energy sources do, including, to heat homes, run water heaters, and provide electricity. There are even some uses you may never have considered before and some uses that are very obvious, but that you may not have considered for one reason or another.

Use as a Battery Charger

Solar energy is a great source of energy. As mentioned, it is plentiful and easy to get. That makes it ideal as a battery charger. Solar battery chargers can be found for a variety of uses.

They can be used to charge everything from a cell phone battery to a lap top battery to charging other batteries. The fact they operate off solar energy means they can be used almost anywhere, even outside.

Uses Outdoors

Since solar energy is gathered from the outdoors it is no surprise that there are many uses for it as a power source for outside use.

Using solar powered lights, pool heating systems and even solar fountains are perfect. There are no worries over electrical lines or possible shock hazards. The solar item is simply placed and the solar panel is set in the sun. It is easy and much cheaper than using electricity.

One of the reasons that many people overlook solar energy is that in the past it was not a very good energy source. It had problems. It was not easy to store, so creating enough power was a problem. Additionally, the products that operated off solar energy were often of bad quality and were not comparable to electric products at all.

Today, however, there has been a lot of work that has went into improvements. Solar energy is now able to be stored so it can be a dependable energy source. Additionally, products are now of high quality and very comparable to electric counterparts.

Solar energy is said to be one of the energy sources of the future. It is being improved upon at a rapid pace and the uses for it are growing everyday. It is something worth looking into if you are concerned about the high energy prices or the fact that current energy sources are depleting quickly.

Solar Energy has become a major part of our lives today with more and more people wanting to use solar energy in their homes and businesses as a way to save money as well as help our environment. Because of the large difference between solar energy and our traditional energy sources, solar energy training is required and recommended to ensure every detail is covered correctly. The internet offers many varieties of solar energy training depending on the level of learning you would like to obtain. Solar energy training may be in the form of simple one or two-day workshops, 6-week training programs or complete programs lasting a year or more and preparing the individual with every important aspect of solar energy. Here are some examples of some of the solar energy training courses that are available and what you can hope to gain from each of these.

Solar Electricity Workshop

This is a great choice for individuals that wish to gain employment n the solar industry, want to learn more about the solar technology in general or want to install solar energy in their own home. This solar energy training workshop may be offered in a 6-day session or a 2-week program. The student will learn how to safely design and install different types of solar electric systems. The workshops involve part classroom and part hands on in the PV lab yard. The student will be expected to be able to do the system correctly.

PV Design (online)

This program lasts for six weeks and will teach the student to design an entire solar electric power system (photovoltaic) all inside your home. Although it's an online course, the same topics will be covered that are in the face to face classrooms offering PV Training. A lot of this solar energy training involves text books, CDs, reading materials and resource links online. For additional hands-on experience, students can combine this solar energy training with a PV Lab course.

Advanced PV- NEC Compliance and Design Criteria

If you're a student that wants to learn more than just how to install a solar system in your home, this is the perfect choice for your level of solar energy training. Upon completion of this course, you'll be ready to seek employment in the solar industry. You'll be able to follow the design and installation of a PV system as well as dealing with maintenance and troubleshooting issues. This advanced solar energy training puts special emphasis on learning how to be compliant with the National Electric Code. Students must have successfully completed a hands-on workshop for PV design and installation prior to taking this advanced course.

Solar energy is a very wide range in terms of possible options and their solar energy training courses and programs are equally diversified. Some other very popular choices for solar energy training include renewable fuels, solar thermal (solar hot water & solar heating systems), wind power, sustainable home design, straw bale building, building natural homes and more.
