Recent studies have shown that the state of Texas does not have a lot of people that have access to health insurance. More so, more people that are Hispanic are unlikely to have it more so than Whites and African-Americans. Usually the reason people can't afford to have health insurance in Texas is because it costs too much for them to pay every month.
Of course, that's not a good sign. There are a lot of indigents in Texas that just can't afford to pay and there are others that work and still can't afford to pay for insurance. What makes it so bad is that there are some employers that refuse to offer insurance. They don't want to pay any more than they have to for health insurance in Texas.
Another thing to factor in is that there are a lot of immigrants that live in Texas. Therefore, since they are new, they take the first offer of employment that they can get. These jobs usually don't pay much, so of course they can't afford to have health insurance in Texas.
Some people that work full time in the state find it difficult because they had other obligations such as bills and putting food on the table. The unfortunate thing about this is while everything else is going up, it seems like salaries are going down. Working people should be able to find affordable health insurance in Texas where they would not have to pay so much. Most people that work a full-time job are not looking for a handout. They just want to be able to afford health care coverage for their family.
The really bad thing about this is that the cost of insurance premiums continues to increase. You may or may not get a raise at work. However, they still look for you to pay your part of health insurance if you were to get it. Some insurance companies will go as far as finding some excuse to justify increasing your premiums every year. On the other hand, you do need health insurance in Texas so that you can pay for doctor visits and get medical services. You won't have to concern yourself with not being able to pay a massive amount of money for medical bills.
Even if you have your own business or employed in a small business, insurance companies will still try to charge you more. They'll use your health status as a target. The health insurance in Texas increases so much that if you can't afford it, you'll be forced to drop it. Even with health insurance that is subsidized so that you can afford it, that too, eventually increases in time.
Having health insurance, whether it's in Texas or elsewhere, is very important. If you have an emergency, the medical facility won't refuse you, but if you don't have health insurance, you will be paying up the nose depending on what you're there for. It's important that future plans eventually include ways that others will be able to get insurance at a reasonable rate and not have to concern themselves with danger of cancelling.
