[T772]The Top Fashion Designers
by Derek Both, Der
The word Fashion derives from the Latin word facere, which means to make. Fashion, as we all know, is associated with clothes, because it can also apply to almost anything from interior decorations to the clothes on models and toys. Fashion as we see it today is normally associated with trends, textile and garments. Textile refers to made clothes, and clothes consume great amounts of materials.

The prominent types of materials used to make clothes are manmade fibers, cotton, silks and synthetics. Today silks are the highly demanded and recommended fibers. Silk is well-known for the production of priceless textiles that offer the finest quality. It has undoubtedly carved a name for itself in the Fashion world all over the world.

Designing fashion is the art applied and is dedicated to designing clothes, especially accessories for the lifestyle of people created within the social influences of a certain time in life. Designing fashion is very different from designing clothing. When designing fashion you have to go with the seasons, and these are defined as spring/summer or autumn/winter. Designing of fashion was considered to have showed its face in the mid 19th century with Charles Frederick Worth. Worth was the first person known who sewed a label inside the garment that was created by them.

The clothing articles from any given time period are studied as costume design by academics, but only the items created by Worth were considered fashion. Most fashion designers today are self-employed and design only for individual consumers. Other designers cater for high-fashion specialty stores and/or department stores. Brands like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein both have a brand name. These designers are likely to consist of a team of designers who work under the direction of the director in charge of the specific name.

Here are some of the top fashion tips for 2007, and maybe this year round you will become noticed the next time you walk down to the beach. This is called Superwedges. With this you will have more glam than ever. You can simply use an instant leg-lengthener and team this up with micro-shorts. If you have the legs for this one, then the Nano-mini is just for you. Flaunt your legs, flash your thighs and cover the chest. Next! For the feet, try Plat-heels. Platforms, as high as 6-inches, will make your legs seem never-ending! For some jewelry, try jewels and studs.

Anything from little Rhinestones to oversized crystals will do the trick. A simple outfit and just allow your shoes and bag to do the talking for you! Hair bands are here to stay! Whether thick or thin or bright and feminine, with beads or just stretchy material these are going nowhere! Try going Logo mad! Pick an item of clothing and become a logo maniac! The maxi dress could only remind you of Paris Hilton when she decides to feel all feminine and chic. Try a long cotton dress and add some bright swirls to your hair. That should do the trick!

For thousands of men and women celebrities who love body tattoos, the Ed Hardy shirt brings the fantasy world of mermaids, snakes, butterflies and tigers into their wardrobe as wearable art. These fantasy themes often appear in the designs of California tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy, whose tattoo design skill and brilliant imagination has earned him global acclaim. The artistry has been translated into a full clothing line by the famous designer Christian Audigier that provides the pleasure of wearing a tattoo without going through the actual process.

Hardy started his career as a tattoo artist in 1967 after receiving a BFA degree in printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. During the 70's and 80s he lived in Japan and was taught the art from a traditional tattoo master.

Don Ed Hardy is called "the Godfather of the Modern Tattoo" because of his 40 years of tattooing experience. His perspective and willingness to experiment using art history, has enabled him to combine Cholo, American and Japanese iconography with surfing, hotrod and tattoo lifestyle designs. His unique talent and skill give his art fascinating depth that has made his name renowned in the body art world.

Hardy signed a license agreement with Ku USA, Inc. in 2002 to manufacture a clothing line based on his art. Other major apparel makers began to show interest in his designs two years after the agreement was signed.

Don Ed Hardy granted the fashion designer Christian Audigier exclusive use rights to his designs in 2004. Audigier was impressed with Hardy's tattoo art images such as "Love Kills Slowly" "Free" and "Death Before Dishonor" and they are now a part of the "Ed Hardy" lifestyle couture brand focused on street culture.

Christian Audigier has earned the title "The King of Jeans" from his success as a designer for clothing companies such as; "American Outfitters," "Diesel", "Fiorucci" and "Levi's." Although Audigier was born in Avignon, France, Los Angeles is his true home. Before creating the Ed Hardy brand, he successfully promoted the artist Von Dutch who produced the imagery of legendary Kustom Kulture and it became a celebrity fashion "must-have."

Audigier's success is because of his love of the entertainer lifestyle and his charisma. This close relationship to the entertainment world is at the heart of his promotional method of marketing directly to a celebrity clientele.

In addition to the Ed Hardy shirt, the brand features a full line of clothing items and accessories for women and men. Audigier' company Nervous Tattoo employs more than 45,000 people worldwide who produce six other clothing lines including: the new lines of "C-Bar-A", "Chuck Boyd", and "Paco Chicano" along with "Christian Audigier", SMET", "and Crystal Rock.
