[B462]Best Hotels In Madrid
by Dave Text, Dav
Madrid is the third largest city in the European Union and the capital of Spain. It is situated at the center of the Iberian Peninsula. This city alone offers about 250 hotels that display part of the old and the New Spain. There are so many attractions in the city that every street, every block, offers a rich history of the country.

One of the landmarks of the city is the Ritz Hotel Madrid. It is situated between two plazas: La Lealtad and Neptuno. La Lealtald Plaza is surrounded with green elms and old magnolia trees that go around an obelisk. Neptuno Plaza on the other side is right next to a fountain where above the water you would see the mythological horses of Neptune's chariot rise. The Ritz Hotel alone is a class of its own and its location is luxurious. Between the Prado and Retiro Park, only little paces from the hotel is the Cas'n. It is a nostalgic palace as it is the remains of the Palace of Buen Retiro.

Not far from the modern Ritz Hotel Madrid, other interesting establishments are: the historical Army Museum, Church of Jeronimos, and the Prado Museum. The Church of Jeronimos is one of the best examples of gothic architecture in that area. The Prado Museum on the other hand contains most of the greatest treasures of Spanish art and also some examples of the works of European Masters.

Another famous hotel is the Villa Magna Hotel Madrid as it is noted to be one of Europe's finest hotels. It is situated in the center of Madrid within the heart of the cultural and financial district of the city. The Villa Magna Hotel Madrid has an old-world charm with a touch of modern elegance. The hotel has 182 rooms and 18 suites that are equipped with the latest in communication technology to enable the guest to hold video conferences, send and receive faxes as well as hold video conferences. There is a fully equipped Business Center that provides personal computers and Internet connection, telefax, photocopying and secretarial and translation services. This hotel is a Park Hyatt that welcomes celebrities, heads of state and international celebrities.

Still another hotel that displays the harmony of the new and old-world Spain is the Villa Real Hotel Madrid. It is located at the center of Madrid. It was only established in 1989, but the design depicts the 19th century Spanish Classical architecture. The interior of the hotel still complements the classic theme with the period furniture. In addition to this, there is a collection of Roman mosaics from the third Century A.D. Despite its historical design and furnishings, the hotel keeps itself up-to-date by adding other modern features. An example is the placing of a Jacuzzi in the duplex and the royal suites. Also, all rooms are provided with satellite TV and 24-hour room service.

These are just some of the hotels in Madrid, Spain that provide an experience of the rich history of the country and at the same time the modern cosmopolitan living all rolled into one. These are the best features that many of the hotels in Madrid have to offer. Visitors can experience a piece of the past and still live in the comforts of the present world.
