You've seen it. Headlines like "Who Else Wants To Earn $3000 Per Month - In Their Sleep!"
I made that up but it's not far off.
If you are like thousands of other folks trying to get into Internet Marketing, you may be having a hard time getting started. It happens to the best of us.
I'm 60 years old! For 35 years I've been in Sales and Marketing! I was, and am, mostly successful. Sure, I had my bad times. There were times when I thought my only chance left was bankruptcy. I've been depressed and I've been exhilarated.
I have had to learn a lot to get where I am.
A few months back I decided I'd get into Internet Marketing. I've always been in sales so it seems like a natural fit.
But let me tell you what I am most excited about regarding Internet Marketing?
First, it costs you very little to get started, and the ongoing costs are very small.
Second, there is little barrier to entry.
Third, there is good earnings potential.
Fourth, you can do this from almost anywhere.
All you need is average computer skills, the ability to get online, a little time to apply to the pursuit, and the skills necessary to make it happen. And some money, but not a lot.
This is the secret to Internet Marketing success. You have to know how.
There it is. The skills. If you don't acquire the skills necessary for success at Internet Marketing you won't be able to do it.
You'll not get there. You won't make money.
It happens, but it doesn't have to happen. You can learn the skills and you can succeed. You can make money online! I still remember the first time I got an email stating that a deposit had been made to my paypal account!
Back in 2007 I enrolled in a school that teaches Online Marketing. When I arrived, I knew very little. The first four videos were aimed at giving the newcomers an overview of what Internet Marketing is. They covered the various ways of making money online.
Then the curriculum got down to the basics. I learned those basics and more, including building web pages and starting a blog, to being able to research keywords and niche markets.
That is the very thing I advise people who are just getting in. Go get the lessons.
Do that. Read up, join a school or forum and learn! I did all three. I'm still learning everyday.
You can do it, too. Just go do your next lesson.
1. A mailing list is one of the best assets anyone can have. By building a list of people who are expecting to hear from you regarding your business opportunity or products, you will always have the ability to make more money at any given moment.
To do this you need to master list building techniques. We are not going to go into depth on on those in this article, but driving traffic to a landing page and capturing contact information is one of the best ways to build your own list.
2. You need to brand yourself as an expert in the field that you are in. You do this by working with the list that you're building an developing a relationship with them.
Over time you become credible because you become a trusted source of information. The key to making this work for you is to be in a giving mode and not always in a selling one.
This means once you have your list going you continue to work with it. Using quality auto responders such as Aweber or GetResponse makes that this very easy to do.
3. Next we want to mention you must sell products that people want or need. Even better is if you can offer products that create opportunities for you to make large sums of money initially, and residual income on a long-term basis.
For this reason 2 tier affiliate programs and network marketing programs are a great source for making money online. You can find a number of quality opportunities online by just doing a little bit of research.
4. The first three things we've mentioned are easily accomplished by anyone with a little bit of effort. The last thing we want to talk about is getting qualified visitors to your website or landing page.
To do this you will need to become an expert in the art of traffic generation. This is where most people fail and in the end can either make you or break you when it comes to mastering the art of making money online.
Regardless of how good your products are, or how big your list is, you never really will be able to me any sales if you cannot get traffic to your site. You will have to become good in such things as pay per click advertising, article marketing, forum marketing, and so on.
In the end, how much money you make online will be up to you. There is an art to this, but once you get down the system you just continue to repeat these four steps to make as much money as you want.
