[T878]Things You Must Know
by Bill Hunley, Bil

Building a team in network marketing is the ultimate goal. Product sales are good but there's no doubt that the big money is made from building a large team. The bigger the better. Just as in franchising the more outlets you have for your goods and or services the more money you'll make, and let's face it, more money is the reason we go into business in the first place isn't it.

Now we have to remember that we are dealing with people here when we talk about "outlets" and they all respond differently and in varying degrees to the same information. Some will give 100%, some will give 40%, and some won't respond at all. You have to realize that fact before you ever begin trying to develop people and start building your network marketing empire. Let's look at just three of the things you need to know that are extremely important when you are building your team.

1.) Make them feel that they are worth it: Everybody wants that. If you can develop your ability to help others increase their own self esteem and make them feel that they're important you'll go a long way in helping them want to succeed. You must develop that skill because if a person doesn't feel that they deserve to be successful they won't be, in network marketing or any other area of their lives for that matter. When they finally begin to believe that they are worth it and deserve to be successful you wouldn't be able to stop them from succeeding if you tried! That's the kind of team you want.

2.) Become their biggest fan: People need encouragement and they need it on a regular basis. You have to make sure it's real encouragement though and not just empty flattery. They will always be able to know when you're just feeding them a line. When the encouragement is real and heartfelt they will respond beyond even their wildest expectations. People can tell when you really believe in them and when you're just blowing smoke. When it comes to encouraging your people it is definately a "smoke free zone".

3.) Be there for them until they can lead and develop their own teams: Becoming a sponsor is the most important thing you can do in network marketing and you can't just sponsor someone and then leave hanging. John Maxwell gives a great illustration of this point in his book "The Success Journey". In that book he compares building a team to learning to fly. John says that a good flight instructor would never let their student take a solo flight before they were ready, or keep them from taking one once they were ready. It's the difference between being a flight instructor or a travel agent. A flight instructor is with you every step of the way showing you what to do, how to do it and encouraging you along the way while a travel agent just gives you your ticket, smiles and sends you off on your own.

You and I both know that there are more things to know and consider when building you team and developing your people, but if you will concentrate on these three things you will be amazed at the results.

People take part in hobbies for several reasons. Some do it for pure pleasure, while others do it for profit. This carries across all sorts of hobbies and types of people, including those who collect gold coins. Why would someone choose to collect gold coins as a hobby? Again, some people choose their hobbies based on pleasure, while others aim to make a profit.

The best way to profit is to look for a good deal; there are always occasions when someone won't know what it is they have and will sell it to you for a low price or even give it to you outright. Getting several gold coins in this manner can almost guarantee a strong profit margin. You may also simply happen upon something beautiful that completes a portion of the collection, making those particular gold coins within that completed series all the more valuable as a set.

Another reason that someone may have begun gathering gold coins to create a collection is through gifts. Perhaps for a birthday or other special occasion this person received a gold coin. From that small gift, the entire collection of gold coins began as a hobby. In these cases, the gold coins owned by the individual are purely for the pleasure of the game. Perhaps the person enjoys the game of hunting down rare gold coins, or maybe he or she simply likes to display an impressive collection.

There is a key to knowing when it might be worthwhile to purchase gold coins. First of all, never sit in awe of a commercial for commemorative issue gold coins in limited quantities. Obviously, these gold coins are still mass produced and could not be considered rare, regardless of what the commercial says. Also, it is better to verify the sale and purchase are through some kind of authorized vendor who has been proven to sell only authentic gold coins.

Whatever reason the hobby is chosen, hundreds of thousands of individuals across the world invest quite a bit of time and money in the collection of gold coins, building huge lots that can be worth a great deal of money.

Getting your gold coins evaluated is something that should be done at least every six months. This allows you to keep track of changing values of individual gold coins, verifying the net worth of your collection. This is important partially because there may come a time that you do wish to sell your collection of gold coins. However, even if you don't, you really should have an inventory of your collection, complete with values so that you can quote someone intelligently should they ask how much your gold coins are actually worth.

For some of these collectors, the adventure is in finding the rare and special edition gold coins that are difficult to track down. It is a game for them; a sleuth mystery or a tracking game of hide and seek that occupies most of their free time. In fact, some of these collectors get more satisfaction from seeking out the gold coins they want than from actually acquiring them, though most would never admit to that!

Other individuals are passing the gold coins along as a family heirloom, you'll want to have details on its value. A collection of gold coins left to an individual in a will should have a somewhat recent appraised value (hopefully accurate within a year) so that your heirs know what they actually have in possession.

No matter your reason for collecting the coins, you can rest assured that getting an appraisal for the value of your gold coins is an important step in maintaining serious control over your collection inventory. Without such knowledge, you are left wondering if you've spent too much money on your gold coins or if you may be sitting on the jackpot.
