[T836]Themes For Birthday Parties
by Jim Brown, Jim
Do you ever wish you could come up with the perfect theme for your kid's party? Yet somehow you can't think of one creative enough? Here is a list of many different themes for birthday parties. The different themes are Asian, Princess, Monsters, and Movie Star. Pick any one of these and you will have a fun all night long.

Asian theme- Have the main room of the party decorated with big Chinese fans, lotus blossoms, and paper dragons soaring across the walls. And as a gift you can buy big Chinese umbrellas for your guests. If you want to make it really authentic you could dress up in Chinese dresses and do everyone's hair with chopsticks and pigtails. Watch kung fu movies and eat sushi, and Chinese food. (Rice, stir fry, orange chicken.) Also have fortune cookies ready at hand! A fun thing to do is teach the kids (and yourself) how to use chopsticks. Have some forks too because it's really hard! If you want to have silly fun you can set up races with chopsticks. Have the kids race each other in grabbing the most m&m's, jello pieces, and marshmallows with the chopsticks.

Princess theme- The best party for a little girl is a princess theme. Buy a bunch of cute foofy dresses and lots of fake jewelry (tiaras, rings, bracelets). Not to mention some wands and fairy wings because the only thing better than a princess is a fairy princess. For food have cupcakes and lots of royal treats like itty-bitty sandwiches and teacups to hold the pink lemonade. Watch movies with Barbie and princesses and after use your imagination and play games with the kids. (The best things kids can do when they are little is imagine.) For decorations have lots of flowers and if you want to welcome your royal princesses you need a red carpet!

Monster theme- A monster theme is good for parties AND for Halloween. You can dress up in a bunch of costumes and roam around at night with flashlights. Make a day out of it! Maybe even try shopping around and creating your own. Then go back home and make a giant chocolate cake! And since monsters eat weird things you can make Mississippi mud (dirt) and make a bunch of weird looking smoothies! For little kids it's really fun to make masks. Paper plates and bags all work okay. Otherwise go out and by some to have fun with.

Movie Star- Movie star is my favorite theme. First invite a bunch of friends and tell them to bring a bunch of glitzy glamour clothes. And any cool pajamas they might have. Then roll out a red carpet and take a bunch of goofy, stylish, fun photos as they each walk through the door. Have all kinds of treats and plenty of make up and nail polish. Dress everyone up and then take videos of the party while everyone acts like superstars. Do interviews and remake your favorite movies! Then get together and watch your favorite girly movie. With all the 'fame and fortune' they will be sure to have a lot of fun and will definitely be talking about the party for a long time!
