[N62]Natural Herb Weight Loss
by Dr. George Best, Dr.
There are several aspects to be considered and implemented when one is trying to achieve natural weight loss. While many people search for some magic pill or supplement, or try to find the perfect diet or look to the latest exercise fad, the reality is that a combination approach is usually necessary to actually get good, lasting results.

A great variety of natural weight loss products are always being promoted, and there seems like an unending stream of new weight loss aids being hyped. The ads promise easy weight loss and people desperately want to believe that it is possible, so they buy the latest product hoping it will be the easy answer they've been seeking. Despite the fact that most people are aware deep down that there really is no quick, easy way to lose weight, they'll buy each new weight loss miracle that comes out on the market with excitement, only to be discouraged repeatedly.

Now this is not to say that natural weight loss aids are all completely worthless. In fact, many do exactly what they are supposed to do. For example, hoodia gordonii (at least the real stuff) does seem to be a very effective appetite suppressant. So, if the main reason that you have trouble losing weight is because you have out of control hunger that makes you eat excssively, hoodia may be a big help. The thing is, the vast majority of people do not overeat, or eat too much of the wrong things, because they are hungry. They may eat out of boredom, out of habit, out of a need to satisfy a craving, or out of a need to soothe some emotional issue they are dealing with, but they don't eat out of hunger. Hoodia is not going to help you if you aren't eating out of hunger.

Certain natural weight loss aids can help improve the weight loss results you get from diet and exercise. The thing is, to get benefits from such products, you hav to do the diet and exercise, but many people buy these products in the hope that they will replace diet and exercise, and they simply do not work this way.

Some natural weight loss supplements work by blocking fat absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. Blocking fat absorption can create some weight loss (at the expense of some unpleasant side effects like loose, greasy stools and potentially deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins), but any food eaten in excessively large quantities will eventually be stored as fat, so simply blocking fat absorption will not prevent weight gain. Once more it comes down to the fact that there's no substitute for diet an exercise for natural weight loss.

No natural weight loss product is a replacement for diet and exercise. While some products may enhance the effects of diet and exercise, such enhancements are minor in comparison to what proper eating and increased activity can do. Even the advertisements for weight loss products usually are clear on this point - at least they're clear if you have sharp enough vision to see the disclaimers hidden in the tiny print usually located at the bottom of the ads.

So, the foundations of natural weight loss are diet and exercise. With a good diet and exercise program in place, you may get additional benefits from using one or more of the natural weight loss products on the market. But do your research to find a product that serves your particular needs. In other words, if you're not overeating out of hunger, don't buy an appetite suppressant. If you're already minimizing your fat intake, don't waste your money on a fat blocker.

Once you have your natural weight loss plan figured out in terms of your eating plan, your exercise routine, and your choice of weight loss products, there's just one thing that needs to be done. You need to be able to stay on the program consistently over the long-term! The number one problem with most weight loss plans is that people don't stick to the plan consistently long enough to get lasting results.

I have observed over the years that many people start weight loss programs but fail to stick to them for very long. Certainly, many people work on losing weight for long periods of time, but few are consistent with their efforts and fail to really stick to their programs for more than a week or two at a time. This lack of consistency ultimately results in the failure of most people to lose weight long-term.

New research that compared the effectiveness of various popular diet plans came upon an interesting discovery. Most diet plans have about the same success rate statistically. Whether or not a diet works actually has little to do with the rules of the diet itself. The researchers found that that all diets were about equally effective and the success or failure in losing weight was mainly dependent on how well the participants followed whatever program they were on. The message here is pretty clear - it doesn't matter what diet you follow (assuming it's halfway healthy of course!) as much as it matters how well you follow it!

To follow-through with your natural weight loss plan, you MUST get control of your mind. There are many ways to do this and many different techniques that work to varying degrees for different people. My E-Book, "Training Your Brain For Weight Loss" discusses several of these techniques in detail in a user-friendly manner specifically designed for weight loss, but you can also get a lot of help in this area with products from Anthony Robbins, Dr. Phil, and others, as well as through technologies like hypnosis, the Sedona Method and Emotional Freedom Technique. You may need to try several methods to find what works well for you (at the risk of making another shameless plug, my E-book provides the opportunity to do this quickly, easily, and less expensively than buying several different products).

As you can see, there really is no short-cut to effective natural weight loss. The secret is to incorporate diet, exercise, and weight loss products that suit your particular requirements and then have the techniques to keep your mind on track to stick with your program. Once you learn how to control your thoughts and emotions to keep yourself on track, weight loss success is simply a matter of time.

Smoking is an addiction, the faster you finish it the more chances are it will ultimately finish you. Smoking start with being a fun thing and then progresses to become a bad habit having the ability to kill you, it is suicide, a slow suicide. If you can quit smoking then nothing better than that but you do not want to then it is advised that things like milk thistle extract, hawthorne berry, dandelion root, mullein leaf, ginger root, anise, elecampane, vitamin C, ginkgo biloba herbal extracts, astragalus root, cat's claw concentrate and others be consumed so that you allow the organs and body systems to live and not kill them with the inhaling smoke.

For those have manage to look into the mirror and confess that they need to change this habit slowly and gradually there are good herbs that will take you a promising but tough path of completely leaving the habit. Here below are such herbs and how to take the medications to improve chances of quitting smoking.

AVENA SATIVA: This herb hit the nail right on the head; it stops anxiety, depression and insomnia. Its utility can be gauged by the fact that it comes in handy to negate opium addiction. Better-researched studies have shown that its effectiveness makes it a recommended herb for sinking the wish for nicotine.

LOBELIA: Lobelia has an active ingredient called lobeline that is quite helpful in the after effects of quitting smoking. Lobeline has the power to raise neurotransmitter dopamine levels in the brain same as found in cigarettes. This herb has toxic potential therefore any use should be under then complete supervision a qualified doctor. The repercussions could lead to dry mouth, nausea, profuse sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, tremors, coma, confusion, convulsions and if there is a large dose consumed it can even lead to death.

GARCINIA CAMBOGIA: This is chiefly an herb of Ayurved. Contents are hydro-citric acid that helps negate sugar cravings & also helps us avoid overeating that usually comes at a time when nicotine supply is reduced.

GINSENG: Release of neurotransmitter dopamine induced through nicotine is stopped by Ginseng.

GOTU COLA: This too is an Ayurvedic herb. Gotu Cola helps the brain & neverous system function properly. By raising mental clarity, supporting brain functions and enhancing memory it help in the after effects of withdrawal. Recently there have been finding that prove that there is better cerebral blood flow & general circulation also improves, and overall much better supply of oxygen to brain to function properly.

ST. JOHNS WORT: Nothing concrete to suggest that it helps prevent smoking but a few newer studies have reported it to be highly successful in withdrawal symptoms. Though there is nothing to confirm its existence. Consumption must not be mixed with anything else as it has reactions to antidepressants; HIV infections drugs, and AIDs, Organ rejections drugs, & oral contraceptives. Pregnant women should avoid St. John's wort and children as well people suffering from kidney disease, bipolar disorder or liver should stay away.

Its not that just herbal medications can help you from quitting smoking, there are other solutions too. Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture & behavioral therapies are few of the other sources that you might like to explore.
