[N49]Natural Cures Bad Breath
by Mark Lauber, Mar
There is a huge market today in the US for all natural cures. For common ailments, diseases, and disorders there are many claims being made by natural product manufacturers. High blood pressure, anxiety and diabetes are the most common.

Cures developed by a "mad scientist" in the form of synthesized drugs scare many people but if the medication or treatment is an all nature cure it is very comforting to some people. After all, if it's found naturally in the world, it can't be that bad, right? Well, not exactly.

Nature through evolution has created "drugs" infinitely more complex than ever produced in a lab by a scientist. So, "all natural" and safe may not go hand in hand in all cases.

Nature does make wonderful all natural cures for everyday disorders. Penicillin, for example, can cure many different forms of bacterial infections.

Most antibiotics manufactured are not all natural; natural compounds are modified and synthesized in a lab. Does this process create unhealthy medications? Not at all. Many deadly bacterial infections can be cured by the synthesized drugs where natural cures are ineffective.

Choosing a natural cure tips:

1) Even though we are dealing with natural substances, is there definitive scientific proof of the effectiveness of the natural medication or treatment?

Has it been proven effective in treating your particular ailment, disease or disorder you're trying to overcome? What studies have been completed, and who actually performed the studies?

If a company is unwilling to divulge this information is a warning sign to stay away. Even though they may have provide many exciting client testimonials.

2) Use the Internet and search engines like Google or Yahoo to research the all natural cures for your particular problem.

In summary, the most important aspect of using all natural cures is that it be safe and effective even though it has been made from all natural ingredients. Being healthy and feeling better is a goal for everyone but don't overlook researching the product to be sure it can cure your ailment safely.

Finally, it would be great if there were all natural cures for all our ailments but that's not the case. So there will be times when synthesized drugs will need to be used.

If you have ever tried to give your date a kiss and he or she puts a hand up to protect himself (herself) from your vile breath, you know how that feels. Probably that person did want your kiss, but was put off by your bad breath. What are the ways of fighting this disorder apart from daily brushing and flossing?
Before tackling the natural treatment methods, let's first figure out where bad breath comes from. In any person's mouth, hundreds of different bacteria thrive. These feed on the microscopic food particles left in the mouth every time you eat. While breaking down the food particles, some of these bacteria produce a sulfur compound that have a very offensive smell similar to that of rotten eggs. This is what comes out of your mouth as bad breath or halitosis.
You can avoid this problem by regularly cleaning the tongue to prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria. There are special tongue scrapers that you buy for this, but some experts recommend that you simply use a teaspoon for the job.
What is a Mouth Oxygenator? The bacteria in your mouth that produce foul odors are anaerobic, meaning they don't require oxygen to live. By deluging these bacteria with oxygen it actually helps reduce the amount in your mouth.
Mouthwashes are great for keeping your breath fresh. Many of these are very effective and can give you fresh breath that will last a whole day. The most effective ones are those that contain cetylpyridinium chloride and zinc chloride. Unlike other products that just mask the bad smell with a nice mint flavor, these really help eliminate the bacteria that cause bad breath.
Another great product to help you get closer to that fresh-smelling breath is the water pik. This mechanical item works by spraying the inside of the mouth with a strong but rather pleasant stream of water that will dislodge all trapped food particles between the teeth.
If home remedies are your thing, you can try using baking soda as an alternative treatment for halitosis. The bitter taste of this substance may turn off some people, but baking soda is really quite effective in eliminating smell of bad breath. Besides, many toothpaste brands now offer products that have baking soda as one of their ingredients.
Eating properly will also help to eliminate the noxious odor. Therefore, if you chew on snacks such as fresh vegetables, which are high in acids and fiber that will kill much of the bacteria, as opposed to candy, chips, and cookies this will help to keep plaque from forming. You could also rinse the mouth with mint, or chew parsley or basil leaves. Also to aid in maintaining healthy gums, add citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruit, lemon, lime), guavas or pomegranates in the diet as these fruits contain large quantities of vitamin C. Massaging the gums daily with a mixture of salt, black pepper, turmeric and sesame oil is also beneficial. A tea made of the leaves from Wintergreen makes an effective mouthwash and gargle for the mouth and throat.
Hydrogen Peroxide is an effective rinse because it adds oxygen to the bacteria that thrive in an environment where little to no oxygen exists thus effectively killing the anaerobic bacteria. Although if you do not have this handy using plain water will also help loosen up the foods and particles that have become lodged between the teeth and gums. If you leave them there, the bacteria causing the odors, think you left them a buffet and will dine to their delight and to your horror as your breath becomes worse.
A protein-rich diet will make your muscles bigger, but it will also make you more at risk of developing halitosis. The anaerobic bacteria only emit the offensive sulfur compounds during the breakdown of proteins. This explains why there is a significantly lower number of vegetarians who have bad breath. They do not consume the same amount of saturated fats and cholesterol as other people do. In addition, they eat much more fresh fruits and vegetables that have natural chemicals that can easily fight and eliminate the bad bacteria in the mouth.
