[N153]New Age Tarot Readings
by John Harricharan, Joh
?What you should have done was gently tap on your brakes as he cut in front of you. Then say to yourself,?The best place for you is far,far away from me? and continue driving. In a few moments you would have forgotten the event. You would have remained peaceful, and a peaceful heart is a powerful heart.

?To repeat what I've said,John, when you find yourself becoming upset by other drivers, remember that this is an indication that you need to return to a quiet place in the center of your being. Take it as a road sign. Come back to center. If you practiced enough you'd notice that hardly anything bothers you while you're driving. You would become a much safer driver. You would be protected from accidents, red lights would change to green as you approached them, and parking spaces would open up in crowded parking lots, apparently just for you. There is a practical aspect to all of this, too, you know.?

It's always fascinated me how some people can take the simplest events of life and bring significant meaning to them. Gideon was a master of this art. Whatever circumstances or situations we were experiencing, there always seemed to be a higher meaning for him. And he tried to teach this to me. He never grew tired of saying to me, ?You never see things as they are. You always see them as you are. You don't believe what you see, you actually see what you believe.?

As I sat contemplating Gideon and his philosophy, that highway incident seemed far, far away and long, long ago. And yet, I could still close my eyes and in a few seconds call to memory the entire event. The message and the meaning were always there. What if it was possible to take all the meanings out of events that occur and discard the rest? If it was possible not to get caught up in ?what I should have done? or ?I wish I hadn't done that? or, worse yet, ?if only,? we would be so much happier, so much more productive, so much more alive. We tend to live in our yesterdays and fear our tomorrows and thus miss out on our todays.

I wished I could see Gideon again, soon. I was also hoping to see Marla again. How similar was her name to that of my late wife, Mardai. There is always a curiosity about our loved ones, to discover where they have gone or how they were progressing. A strange thought crossed my mind. Perhaps Marla knew where Mardai was. Perhaps they could communicate.

My contemplations were interrupted by the ringing of the phone. I went into the house and picked up the receiver, only to hear my old friend Gideon's voice. ?John,as I promised the last time I saw you, Marla and I will be meeting you soon for dinner.? Gideon sometimes got right to the point. No ?hello? or ?how are you?? No greeting. Just straight to the point.

?How are you, Gideon? And how is Marla?? I asked.

?We are, as always, fine, John,? he answered without giving me much time to reply.?I know you like bagpipes, country, classical and many other types of music. So, we'll also make arrangements for some entertainment at dinner, too,? he continued.

?What are you talking about, Gideon?? I blurted out. ?Dinner, John. You, Marla and I are scheduled for dinner next Wednesday evening at a unique place for a special treat. You'll also get to enjoy some of your favorite music. I'll pick you up at 7:00 P.M. sharp, John. Any problems?? ?Only you,? I replied. ?You're so confusing.?

?I learned that from you, John, and I think sometimes it's rather fun. See you soon.?

I hung up the phone. Finally, I'd see Marla again. The full impact of the words that Gideon had once repeated struck me. Yes, morning does take all night to come, but come it surely does.
