[N330]Non Ablative Skin Rejuvenation
by Abigail Aaronson, Abi
Want to rejuvenate your skin and banish blemishes but are afraid of going under the knife? Today there is a variety of new alternatives to invasive cosmetic surgery. With great results and no incisions necessary, facial treatments like laser skin resurfacing and microdermabrasion are gaining popularity among men and women.

Laser Skin Resurfacing -

Laser resurfacing can treat a huge array of problems ... removing unsightly scars, spider veins, wrinkles, discoloration, and acne.

The type of laser used will depend on the particular treatment sought, but the basic process uses beams of light to remove the outer dermal. A new, undamaged and blemish-free complexion will be revealed.

Sessions can last anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours, depending on the size of the treatment area and extent of the damage being treated. Most patients will have to make repeat visits for optimal results. It is most often used on the face, but also works well on other common problem areas of the body like the thighs.

Although highly effective and able to treat a wide variety of problems, the recovery period for laser skin resurfacing can be a nuisance. The treated areas will be dressed for a few days and once removed, the area will have to be protected with Vaseline until fully healed ten to twenty days later. Even after twenty days, skin might remain red for anywhere from two to six months afterwards, especially for fair individuals.

Fortunately, the pain level is minimal, usually equivalent to that of mild sunburn with some dryness and peeling. If you're looking for a milder treatment with less downtime, you might consider microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion -

During a microdermabrasion treatment an instrument that resembles a wand is massaged over the area, using any one of a variety of materials including zinc oxide or organic particles. The topmost dermal layer is abraded off.

What results is the removal of fine lines, blemishes, mild sun damage, acne, and some discoloration. Afterwards you're left with a new, undamaged layer of skin that can be penetrated more easily by topical moisturizers and creams. Initially the area may be irritable or red, but this usually disappears a few hours afterwards.

Microdermabrasion works best when used fairly regularly. By receiving repeated treatments, deeper dermal flaws might eventually be removed or diminished, and it will promote the process of new cell growth, giving skin a refreshed appearance.

There are also machines and creams that are available for home use. These are effective to some extent, but as you would expect, they are not nearly as powerful as the equipment available in a cosmetic surgeon's office.

Most people aren't born with a flawless complexion, and the effects of time and harmful elements can mark your skin with permanent blemishes. A good skincare regime is paramount in maintaining a healthy glow, but for those imperfections you can't reach with topical lotions and creams, laser resurfacing or microdermabrasion are both winning options.

As you age your skin becomes wrinkled and gets all those freckles which you do not desire. The cause for the wrinkles to appear is genetic as well of our own doing. What we eat and the kind of lifestyle we lead affects the texture of the skin. Eating healthy and staying fit is the mantra if you want to make sure that your skin stays young forever.

There are artificial ways to doing that and these are getting special creams or anti wrinkle treatments. Then there are surgical methods to get rid of the wrinkles. These surgical methods include Dermabrasion and surgical face lifts. Some of the treatments are microdermabrasion or specialized treatments at the spa.

The most of the non surgical treatments require that the creams penetrate the skin to reduce the affect of aging. This penetration of the skin is aided by a chemical called alpha hydroxy acid. All sorts toners. Moisturizers, creams have this chemical called Alpha Hydroxy acid which will help the actual nourishing element to penetrate the skin.

The lactic acid and the glycolic acid are the two most common types of alpha hydroxy acid used in the creams. The main logic behind how the alpha hydroxy acid allows the other material to penetrate the skin is that these alpha hydroxy acids work as exfoliation agents. In simple terms exfoliation is a process by which the dead skin gets removed by itself and a new skin is exposed from beneath.

The new skin has all the pores open which allows the skin to breathe properly. These alpha hydroxy acids actually remove the dead cells from the skin and let the new kin come up from beneath. All said the alpha hydroxy acid can also cause side effects. These side effects can be irritation and red spots if your skin is very sensitive. These acids also cause the increased sensitivity to sun. So if you are using a cream that has these acids make sure that you also use the sun screen in good measure to protect you from the sun.

Make sure that you choose a cream after consulting your cosmetologist as that will help you reduce the side effects of most creams and also get you better looking youthful face.

Even after all these above suggestions it is imperative that the eating habits should be good for achieveing that good skin health. The next best thing is exercise whihc keeps you fit and healthy. Exercises help as they get the body to shed of excess fat and bad toxins from the body.Water is another major thing thta you can have as many times as possible during the day to help you look beautiful with good skin. Aprt form all these skin gets affected by lack of sleep and it is very importnat to get good sleep. Lack of sleep ususally causes the skin to look wrinkled and aged.
These tips along with medical treatment will help you get good skin for years to come.
