London boasts an insightful history that goes back over 2 000 years. during this time, the city has become one of the cultural & financial capitals of the world. it has also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, and terrorism.

London suffered especially while the second world war. It suffered bad damage from bombs while this time and 100s of thousands of kids in the city were evacuated out to the greenery to avoid the bombs. The most severe bombing occured during 7 September 1940 and 10 May 1941.

As its the capital of great britain, London has the perfect museums in the country. One of the perfect is the Science Museum, which is in south kensington. The museum was formed in 1857 & has over 300 000 exhibits, including Puffing Billy & Stephenson's Rocket.

The city has plenty of marvellous galleries too, including the National Portrait art gallery.

From unusual markets to designer stores, London boasts some wonderful shops.

Oxford street is generally regarded as the finest shopping street in great britain. The street has topshop's well-known flagship shop, in addition to a massive Selfridges, which has been there since 1909. recently, a massive Primark shop opened on the street & it has turned out really popular with shoppers.

London is renowned for its vip wine bars, night clubs & theatres. One of the most well-known night clubs is Fabric , which is situated in Leicester Square. This enormous nightclub has a 1600 capacity & it attracts some enormous name DJs, especially on Fridays when it hosts its renowned Fabric Live event.

Another excellent nightclub is Ministry of Sound, which is situated in Southwark.

As it is such a massive location, London is really easy to get to. in fact, it is connected well by rail & has some big train stations, comprising of London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston & Liverpool street. in addition to this, the city also has three huge airports, Heathrow; Stanstead & Luton.

Driving in London can be hard because of the congestion charge, but the city has a marvellous underground & bus network to help people get around.
