[N19]National Baton Twirling Association
by Kenerly Kreations Inc, Ken

Kenerly Kreations costumes are very high quality garments constructed from a variety of the highest grades of stretch fabrics. Many of the fabrics we use have some type of adornments which are quite delicate. Liquid sequin is one of our favorite fabrics but is also the most delicate and the least durable. Proper care of your baton twirling costume will provide the longest useful life for the costume.

Stretch fabric costumes offer unique presentation to the baton twirling costume. Imagine a snug fitting baton costume made of non-stretch fabrics! With a proper design and fit, the stretch fabrics allow for creation of beautiful baton twirling costumes that enhance the twirler's presentation. Even so, the stretch fabrics present a unique challenge in construction, fit, and care of these costumes.

Your baton twirling costume should be kept clean by minimal exposure to dirt, grime, make-up, and sweat. Keeping the baton twirling costume in a garment bag when not in use offers great protection. Occasional spot cleaning can be performed very gently by hand with liquid soap diluted in water and a white bath cloth. Laundering, dry cleaning, soaking, home washing and drying are not recommended!

Liquid sequin is very delicate and therefore we are reluctant to use it on our twirling costumes. Even so it truly enhances certain designs and can create a wonderful effect. Many feature twirlers and line twirlers who perform on the field with marching bands often desire the effect liquid sequin gives under stadium lights. It is a look that is hard to achieve with other fabrics. If you order a twirling costume created with liquid sequin, we will send swatches of your liquid sequin with the costume for at-home repair You can replace loose sequins by hand-stitching or using small daubs of E6000 glue to replace missing or loose sequins. Any unraveling of the stitched areas should be hand sewn to prevent further unraveling. This process can be an ongoing regular process depending upon the particular design and fabrics involved.

Rhinestones on quality baton twirling costumes are all applied by hand using the E6000 adhesive. Rhinestones can fall off with each use and will occasionally require replacement. This can be done at home using the E6000 adhesive by applying a small amount with a pencil point, tooth pick, or tapered wooden applicator.

Kenerly Kreations Inc. uses the highest quality zippers in our stretch garments. Never-the-less, proper ?zipper etiquette? should be followed. Open the zipper completely prior to donning the twirling costume and then close the zipper with gentle but firm counter traction to the lower end of the zipper. Carefully observe the zipper to be sure that no fabric is caught in the zipper foot as it rises. Likewise, when opening the zipper you should also apply gentle counter traction from above.

With proper care your baton twirling costume will last well into the future.
