[N80]Natural Remedy For Yeast
by Paul Conway, Pau
Despite a multitude of prescribed and over-the-counter medications available today, many women affected with yeast infections are looking for a natural remedy for yeast infection treatment. Anti-fungal medications such Miconazole have been proven to be effective, but aren't there other treatments that work?

In this article, we will explore the various natural remedies purported to cure or treat yeast infections and their effectiveness.

Cranberry juice has been used to help treat yeast infections. Do this natural treatment really work? The answer is that it does indeed work for those infected with yeast. Is it really a stand-alone treatment? No. It should be used as an adjunct to a main remedy.

How about yogurt? That helps, doesn't it? Actually, this is a very helpful treatment in combating thrush. Thrush is a form of yeast infection that is present in the mouth. In fact, it is not uncommon for many physicians to tell their patients to eat yogurt as part of their overall treatment plan.

What about compounds that contain Lactobacillus acidophilus? Do they work? According to at least one study, women who used suppositories that contained Lactobacillus acidophilus did report a relief from yeast infection symptoms. Another study that was done showed little benefit from using these products. So, the jury is still out on these preparations.

Other popular natural home remedies for treating yeast infections are vinegar douches, garlic or boric acid based vaginal suppositories, and tea tree oil cream. Again, do they work? Many women report that these are effective, while others do not report any relief from symptoms.

Scientifically speaking, is it always easy to clinically demonstrate that a natural remedy for yeast infection, actually works? The short answer is no. In reality, there needs to be more data obtained via truly stringent studies. One must really apply the same standards to natural remedies for yeast infections, as is applied to the compounds manufactured by the drug companies.

When seeking out any natural remedy, it is important to remember that not all of these compounds will be equally effective for every person afflicted with yeast. You must do your due diligence in deciding which preparation is right for you. And don't forget, a call to your doctor would always be helpful in making an informed decision.

You see, even seeing your doctor may not mean that you will get a prescription; there are pills on the market that your doctor can prescribe, but depending on your infection type and severity, he or she may recommend that you try a natural cure for yeast infection.

That is right; some doctors would rather if you try out a natural treatment for yeast medical condition rather than go on medications. Also, you may have more success with a natural cure for yeast growth simply because you will not be using manufactured and unnatural chemicals, but rather natural products.

One option in the quest for the perfect natural remedy for yeast infection is yogurt. Yogurt, many people claim, helps to keep the vaginal area healthy by maintaining normal acidity levels. But it is not just any yogurt; plain, un-flavored yogurt that contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, which basically works by producing more acid in the digestive tract and throughout the body.

Yogurt, of course, is to be consumed, not placed inside the vagina as a natural cure for yeast infection. As a matter of fact, any natural remedies for yeast development that involves inserting something into the vagina (other than the doctor recommended over-the-counter suppositories) is probably a bad idea without doctor consent.

A natural medication for yeast infection should not be directing you to push an infection into another part of the body, unless your doctor says it is okay to try.

Likewise, any natural remedy for yeast growth and development that promotes douching with a certain mixture is not a good natural remedy for yeast infection to perform without doctor supervision.

Douching in general upsets the Ph balance of the vagina; this is what caused the infection in the first place. Nevertheless, some people have tried the following natural treatments for yeast infection with success.

Tea tree oil is supposedly a great natural medication for yeast developments and infections. In Europe, it seems, women routinely use this oil inside the vagina as a natural cure for yeast infection. This oil is available in most natural food stores. Another natural medication for yeast developments and infections is cranberries. Most everyone knows that drinking pure cranberry juice can help urinary tract infections; it turns out that it may also be an effective natural treatment for yeast infections.

Whichever natural cure and medication for yeast infection you decide to try, remember that if the infection does not clear up within about a week, you need to go see the doctor anyway. Sometimes the symptoms of a yeast growth are actually indicators of something else, and only a doctor can tell you for sure.
