[P338]Picture Of Laptop Computer
by Richard Neesal, Ric
Laptops are portable, convenient and easy to use. Most laptops have just as much memory and storage as a home computer. What is wonderful about them is the portability they allow. There are no chords, no cables and even no mouse. You have everything literally at your fingertips! There are many makes and models of laptops, just as there are home and desktop computers, and many have phenomenal sound systems and graphics. Laptops are an important part of many people's lives. They are used for work, home and even travel.

Many people often do not think about maintenance on their computers and laptops until something goes wrong with it. This simply is not a good idea - computers need routine upkeep to continue working properly. We all know that horrifying black screen, frozen mouse, loud fan or incredibly hot to the touch laptop, but did you know you can prevent all of those things?

The most common problems with laptops are overheating. Fortunately there are products sold to help reduce overheating in laptops. These cooling devices are easy to install and work great. They use small fans to force air continually through the vents of the laptop. If the thought of buying an extra part for your laptop bothers you, try using your computer in an air-conditioned room or facility instead of your car or hot room. It sounds simple, but it can save the life of your laptop.

Another simple trick to keep your laptop running tip top is to keep the vents clean and dust free. All laptops accumulate dust after awhile, but taking off the exhaust vent and removing all the dust bunnies will help the motor running fantastic. Your laptop will generally act as a work horse without any hitches, as long as the temperature stays around 90 degrees. Anything over that temperature, then things could get very ugly!

Even though laptops are designed to be "mobile", cars are not a laptop's friend at all. The inside of a closed up car can reach temperatures well into the hundreds and that can be fatal to a laptop sitting on the floorboard or seat of this locked up car. The same rule should be used when outside too. If the temperature outside is really hot or humid, try finding a shady location to surf the net. Your computer will love you in the morning.

Whatever methods you decide to use, to keep your laptop running like new, always remember to back up your hard drive for those unexpected tragedies - like accidentally leaving it locked in a hot car or letting your laptop sunbathe on the grass at the park. These kinds of heat and humidity can be tragic.

Now that you have your own laptop computer, you will want to know how to keep it safe right? Our laptops, or any kind of computer, are very important to our lives and for many of us, our work. Because these machines are so important to use we want to do everything in our power to make sure they are protected. If something should happen to your laptop there goes everything that you had on it, whether it be pictures of family and friends or business documents - you wouldn't want to loose any of it. Here are five ways to make sure you keep your laptop safe.
One: You need to make sure your computer stays properly ventilated to keep from overheating. If your laptop overheats it can cause your CPU and other components to fry leaving you without a computer. You should make sure that you never leave your computer sitting on a soft surface while it is on so the vents will always get the air they need to keep your computer cool.
Two: Do not ever drop your computer. We all know that accidents can happen but one drop and your laptop could be a goner. You should make sure that if you are carrying it from one place to another that it is safely in your laptop bag. Make sure that when you set it on a table that it is level and not near the edge. You wouldn't want someone to walk by and accidentally knock it over.
Three: When you open your laptop make sure that you do not put too much pressure on the screen. You will also want to avoid touching the screen and playing with the liquid inside. LCD screens are very sensitive and can be very easily damaged. You also do not want to clean it with anything but the cleaners that are specifically designed for LCD screens.
Four: Try to keep drinks and foods away from your laptop unless you absolutely need them there. If you have to have a drink or food near your laptop be very careful not to spill anything. Take this from personal experience, one little drop of liquid in the wrong place can be detrimental. Try to keep your liquids on a different surface than your laptop and when you drink make sure that you are not leaning over your laptop.
Five: Make sure you have anti-virus and anti-spyware software on your computer if you use the Internet. This will keep your computer safe from nasty viruses and prying eyes. There are several very good free anti-virus and anti-spyware software on the market but you can also get good software for a decent price.
These are just five of the many ways you can keep your computer safe. Make sure you follow all the precaution as listed above and your computer should be safe. However, as mentioned earlier accidents happen and sometimes we may not be able to control the bad things that can happen to our laptops.
